From learning how to stitch… to building a future with it.🧡

Our 2-month free vocational stitching training came to an end, with women showing up every day, learning, growing, and building confidence along the way.

Today, many of them leave with skills, confidence, and real income opportunities.
And we’re so proud to share that 10 women are already placed in jobs, taking their first steps towards financial independence.

This is what skill development truly means for us. Not just a class, but a chance to stand on your own, to earn, and to dream a little bigger.

When women artisans learn new skills, tradition transforms into opportunity...

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, SETU organized a hands-on Skill Upgradation Workshop for 25 women artisans in Jaipur’s traditional lac craft.

These women are traditionally engaged in making lac bangles. The training focused on innovative techniques of embedding zirconia and decorative stones, enhancing both the beauty and market value of their products.

The workshop also introduced artisans to new and modern functional products using lac, encouraging creativity and product diversification.

With expert trainers, kilns, tools, and raw materials provided, the session gave artisans the opportunity to practice, experiment, and learn new techniques in a supportive environment.
Because when women artisans gain new skills, they don’t just improve their craft, they strengthen their livelihoods and build brighter futures.

At SETU, stitching is not just a skill… it’s the start of a new future.

SETU is providing a two-month free vocational stitching training, where under privileged women come every day to learn new skills and build confidence. Stitching is more than learning to sew. It creates opportunities to earn from home, start a small business, or find employment. Women from different backgrounds walk in with hope, and walk out with skills, income potential, and renewed confidence.

After training, these women gain more than a skill. They gain identity, livelihood, and the confidence to stand on their own.
With SETU, dreams are not just imagined…they are achieved.

Most people don’t realise this: the Government of India can fund women-led businesses: sometimes up to crores.
From collateral-free Mudra loans to larger support under Stand-Up India, strong schemes already exist. Not venture capital. Not risky borrowing. But real support meant for women entrepreneurs.

At SETU, we walk alongside the women we work with: helping them build skills, confidence, and awareness of opportunities like these. Watching them grow into capable, self-assured professionals has been deeply inspiring. We’re proud of how far they’ve come, and grateful to be part of their journey forward.
