Raksha is a youth based organization, established by a small group of individuals inspired to start a movement and make lasting change to work against cruelty towards animals, to improve the health and welfare of animals, to protect the environment.

This summer, Let’s stand up for our Voiceless friends — the Streeties and Birdies braving the brutal heat.

Take the Pledge:
Fill, Refill, Clean, Repeat.
That’s all it takes to be a Summer Hero.

We’re offering FREE water bowls and cemented tanks installation — all we ask is your daily promise to keep them filled and clean. The idea is to maximise reach and rehydrate more numbers of urban birdies and doggos.

Installation Dates:
3rd May, 7th May and 10th May
Timing: 8:00–11:30 AM & 5:00–7:00 PM

आज एक पूरी तरह विकसित ब्लैक हेडेड रॉयल स्नेक या फिर हिन्दी मे रजतबंसी को देखा… जो सेठजी की तरह ठंडी जगह में इलेक्ट्रिक मीटर के नीचे आराम से बैठा चिल करता मिला (प्रकृति का अपना AC ज़ोन )!

यह जयपुर या राजस्थान मे पाए जाने वाले प्रमुख विषहीन सांपों मे से एक है और अक्सर लोगों के घरों के आसपास चूहा खाने या जाता है। अगर आपके घर के पास यह आ जाए तो कृपया इससे मारें नहीं और इससे अपने हाल पर छोड दे यह खुद वहा से निकाल जाएगा।

💡 कुछ रोचक तथ्य राजस्थान के रॉयल के बारे मे :
* इसका हिस (फुफकार) इतना तेज़ होता है कि दूर तक सुना जा सकता है 🔊
* यह राजस्थान की इकलौती साँप प्रजाति है जो जन्म के बाद अपना बॉडी पैटर्न बदलती है 😮
* यह विशेला नहीं होता।
* और सबसे महत्वपूर्ण — यह चूहों की संख्या को नियंत्रित करता है, यानी आपके घर के लिए फायदेमंद है।

🐍 *Snake Identification Workshop Update!* 🐍

Raksha Bird Shelter conducted a Snake Identification Workshop for ARAV Jaipur Student Chapter and students from M.J.F. Veterinary College at Raksha NGO. Participants learned to identify venomous vs non-venomous snakes, busted common myths, and understood safe rescue practices from reptile experts. We replaced fear with knowledge to help protect both humans & snakes!

साँप भी संवेदनशील जीव हैं – डरिए नहीं, उन्हे समझिए !

साँप प्रकृति का एक महत्वपूर्ण हिस्सा हैं। वे संवेदनशील जीव हैं जो बिना वजह किसी को नुकसान नहीं पहुँचाते।
असल में, साँप इंसानों से हमसे कहीं ज्यादा डरते हैं और हमेशा टकराव से बचना चाहते हैं।

अक्सर साँप शिकार का पीछा करते हुए या उसकी तलाश में गलती से मानव बस्तियों में आ जाते हैं, और भटक(displacement) जाते है।

👉 ऐसे में घबराएँ नहीं, और ना ही साँप को नुकसान पहुँचाने की कोशिश करें।
❌ पत्थर मारना, जलाना या मारना ना केवल गलत है बल्कि पर्यावरण के लिए भी हानिकारक है।

Celebrated World Sparrow Day at the iconic Patrika Gate 🐦✨

Today, Team Raksha set up a stall to spread awareness about sparrow conservation. We interacted with people, shared simple ways to help sparrows thrive in our cities, and gave away easy-to-install free sparrow houses so anyone can create a safe home for these little birds.

Every small effort counts for our tiny neighbours. Let’s bring the sparrows back! 🌿🏠🐦

Back to the wild… where they truly belong 🕊️🌿

Team Raksha in collaboration with the Rajasthan Forest Department, Apollo College of Veterinary Medicine & HG Foundation, successfully rehabilitated and released two beautiful survivors — an Indian Peafowl and a White-eyed Buzzard — after recovery from deadly glass-coated manjha injuries.

These silent victims of kite strings fought through pain… and today, they fly free again 💚

🦚 Did you know? (Indian Peafowl - Male)
• The male peacock is known for its stunning iridescent train used to attract females
• Each feather has an “eye” pattern — believed to ward off predators
• India’s National Bird, symbol of grace and beauty

🦅 White-eyed Buzzard Facts
• Easily identified by its striking pale/white eyes 👀
• A skilled hunter, feeding on insects, reptiles & small mammals
• Often seen perched silently before swooping down on prey

⚠️ A Reminder
Glass-coated manjha may win competitions… but it costs lives.

January 2026 hit different 💚
106 birds healed, rehabilitated & finally FREE 🕊️ in association with Wildlife Vets International, H.G Foundation and Raksha.

All possible of the with combined efforts of our rescue team, veterinary team, rehab team.

And the best part? Our volunteers showed up to witness wings rise again.
Because rescue isn’t just care… it’s a second chance at the sky. ✨

A special Valentine’s Day at Raksha—but instead of roses, we shared something even more meaningful… knowledge, compassion, and second chances 🕊️

Time well spent with future vets, diving into the real side of wildlife care—First Aid, triage, rescues, rehabilitation, and the powerful moment of release. Watching their curiosity, passion, and dedication reminded us that the future of wildlife is in safe hands.

Students from MGF College of Veterinary Medicine joined us to learn, witness, and be part of something bigger than themselves. And what better way to end the day than by releasing birds and showcasing the heart of what we do at Raksha.

Not your usual Valentine’s Day—but definitely one filled with love. For wildlife. For healing. For freedom. 💚

After days of care, treatment, and gentle rehabilitation,
these two peahens are finally back where they belong 🦚🌿

From rescue to recovery, every step ensured
they were strong, healthy, and ready for the wild.

Watching them return to nature reminds us
why rescue and rehabilitation truly matter ✨
Another hopeful release. Another promise to protect wildlife.
