Maya Dulariya is a woman living in the Bassi district in Rajasthan. Her husband repairs shoes for a living, but as an alcoholic, none of his earnings help run the house. This leaves Maya to provide for her children.
Maya used to be a playgroup teacher and she used to make toys and sell them to earn a living. We then got her a job in Koyou, a clothing factory, where she learned how to sew.
Their son needed a heart operation, which his father didn't help out with. Maya was forced to sell her jewellery to pay for her son's operation. Their daughter Divya is in the 12th grade now. Khilti Pari has been funding her education for the past 3 years and we aim to continue helping her for the coming years.
One of our regular donors read about her in our monthly newspaper and was kind enough to offer help. After which Maya said goats would help her earn money in the long run. So instead of donating money, the donor offered to buy her two goats.
And this is just one of the many strong, and empowering KP moms ♥️
