As teenagers we constantly explore ways to define our own identity. While all of us are in

the race to get to the top, we must understand that it is the little things we do in this journey of life that make a huge difference. By virtue of our privileged births it is our responsibility to meaningfully contribute and enrich lives along the way. We must imbibe the feeling to serve others during our youth for the best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others. Aayam, an endeavor by six of us ‘JPites’, aims to cultivate and nurture this feeling of service to society and translate it into constructive activities. Aayam, which means ‘Phenomenal Growth’ , was founded by Chinmay Mehta over a decade ago. It reached its zenith years ago when it became associated with the UNICEF. It has remained inactive for the last three years. Six of us have joined hands to recreate the magic of Aayam. Our activities revolve around the concept of promoting social welfare. Education is the most powerful weapon to bring about change. We have tied up with schools where we will go and teach pupils and not just impart useful information to them, but act as mentors and even brothers. Additionally, we will supply stationery to these places of learning. We will set up a cycle of collection and redistribution of clothes and blankets to keep our friends warm in winter months. We also will carry out social awareness programs using social media and marathons for a cause. For the environment, we will organize tree plantation. At the moment we are six children with an unwavering passion to contribute. We need YOU to make this a macro-movement where not only do we help others, but inspire the world to follow us.
