A group was created in April 2014 to serve needy people in SMS Hospital by the inspiration of RSS & was named "SEWAYAM". The primary motive of this group was to help destitute, unknown and other people from lower strata of community to get immediate and appropriate help in case of emergency, when brought to the hospital. This group is run by Medical, Nursing and other stream professionals and stud
ents, who provide selfless service to these people. Attendant Aayam : This group of volunteers help patient presented in emergency to get off from the ambulance and to reach the duty doctor and get proper primary treatment. In case of admission, The patient is shifted to ward and tended til someone from the family or regular NGO take care for them.
2. Nursing Aayam : This group is consisted from Nursing Professionals and help the emergency staff in discharging their duties under supervision of the doctors working there.
3. Blood Donor Aayam : This is a unique group in which the volunteers donate blood in case of any emergency requiring blood transfusion for patient as above. These donors are voluntary and available on need only. For proper functioning of this huge task, A large no of community members came forward and signed up for this noble work. This service is available round the clock in SMS Hospital, Jaipur. A group of volunteers assemble at designated place in leadership of a team leader. Then they are divided in different Aayam as per their qualification. Then the designated group move to their respective working station. In Oct 2015, some people felt that a there was a lot of requirement of SDP in case of Dengue and it was major case of mortality. So a group of volunteers decided to start a new offshoot of this Sewayam group called "ON CALL SDP FOR DENGUE". The objective of this group is to provide SDP on demand to the needy patient who did not have the required donor available. This activity was a tremendous success and got the support of administration and public alike. In the one year since its inception, this group has helped around 400 people in case of emergency.
