From Care Leavers to Care Leaders....
CLiC’s own team, Shreya Das & Krishnendu Sardar young people who once transitioned out of institutional care themselves, addressed Government CCI Superintendents at the concluding session of a three-day training programme in West Bengal. They spoke on CLiC’s seven domains of support and why continued care after 18 is not optional, it is necessary.
In partnership with DCRT and UNICEF India, our work in West Bengal has reached: 34 CCIs engaged across 12 districts,

The session closed with a clear ask to every CCI: introduce young people to CLiC before they leave, and help ensure that support does not end at the door.

Care Se Career Tak.

This Independence Day, we’re celebrating a different kind of freedom.

Every face here is a care leaver who has built their own path out of institutional care, on their own terms. No family behind them when they started. No roadmap. Just the will to keep going.

We don’t call it help. We call it walking alongside, and that’s exactly what CLiC has done with every single one of them.
Happy Independence Day to all our care leavers. This freedom is yours.

When Anisha Sharma (Anisha Sharma),𝗖𝗟𝗶𝗖 Co-Founder, stood on the platform at the Social Venture Partners India Fast Pitch 2026, she was not simply presenting 𝗖𝗟𝗶𝗖. She was carrying the voices of thousands of CareLeavers who remain unheard.

𝗦𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗔𝗟𝗘𝗗 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘁𝗵: leaving an institution at 18 with no family safety net, holding a bag of belongings, and stepping into an unfamiliar world with fear and zero guidance.

To hear care-experienced youth say, “𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝘆 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆,” showed us the power of making invisible voices visible.

A few months ago, Anisha was battling persistent health issues. There were days when she felt overwhelmed and disconnected, not as a leader, but as a human being. But her resilience brought her back to the mission.

𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗩𝗣 𝗰𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀 made this journey possible. And CLiC found their Didi back with the same zeal.

𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻, 𝘄𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝗦𝗩𝗣 𝗙𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗣𝗶𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲! 🏆

Seeing people step forward to support CLiC on the spot was deeply emotional. For years, the issue of CareLeavers has remained largely invisible. That evening proved that when our voices are heard, people care and want to act.

But this is just the beginning.

Thousands of young people age out of care every year without shelter, documentation, livelihood skills, or emotional guidance. We want to change that through peer support.

After-Care & Individual Care Plan (ICP) Training , Udaipur
Careleavers Inner Circle (CLiC) forum, in collaboration with DCR Udaipur, Department for Child Rights, Rajasthan organized an insightful training session on After-Care and Individual Care Plan (ICP) for key stakeholders, with 22 participants in attendance along with the DCPO Sir and CWC Udaipur.

The session was facilitated by Mohsin, representing Careleavers Inner Circle (CLiC) forum, who led participants through a pre-assessment form to gauge their existing understanding, followed by an in-depth discussion on why ICPs matter - tailored to each child’s interests and abilities, and critical in ensuring that children rehabilitating from CCIs have the support and direction they need for a stable future.
The training also covered how the ICP format has evolved - from simple yes/no responses to detailed, narrative-based documentation by Probation Officers - along with when an ICP is required, the role of career counselling, and how to prepare children for a smooth transition into after-care.

The session was highly interactive, with participants actively engaging and raising questions throughout. Team members Kamal and Guddia ensured smooth coordination behind the scenes, reflecting the collaborative effort behind the training’s success.
The DCPO has directed CCI visits to support staff in preparing ICPs for children nearing rehabilitation. A coordination group has also been formed with DCPO, Counsellors, and Superintendents, where CLiC will provide hands-on support on ICP and After-Care processes going forward.
We thank all stakeholders for their active participation and remain committed to strengthening after-care support systems for children in need.

At 18, thousands of CareLeavers in India become invisible to the system - not because of anything they did, but because no one was ever there to make these documents for them.
No ID means no job, no bank account, no future before it’s even had a chance to start.
This is CLiC’s first pillar: Documentation. 600+ identity documents secured so far Aadhaar, birth certificates, bank accounts. One ID at a time, one future unlocked at a time.

Turning 18 Shouldn’t Mean Facing Life Alone.

Every year, thousands of young people leave childcare institutions when they turn 18.

But adulthood doesn’t come with an instruction manual.

For many care leavers, it means facing the world without family, guidance, financial support, or a place to call home.

At Careleavers Inner Circle, we believe that care shouldn’t end at 18 it should evolve into opportunity.

Through documentation, education, skilling, housing support, financial inclusion, mentorship, and a lifelong community, we’re helping care leavers build independent, confident, and meaningful lives.

One opportunity can change a life.
One mentor can change a future.
One act of kindness can create lasting impact.

Swipe through to learn how together, we can ensure that no young person has to navigate adulthood alone.

Whether you volunteer, mentor, donate, hire a care leaver, or simply share our mission you become part of someone’s fresh start.
