দিস নে সময় কাটিয়ে বৃথা সময় বিচার করে ॥"
এক একটা বছর এক একটা নতুন যুগের মত, প্রতিটা দিন মানুষ যেন জীবন খাতায় এক একটা নতুন অধ্যায় রচনা করে। ছাত্র জীবনে এমন অধ্যায় সংখ্যা অনেক আবার এমন যুগের সংখ্যাও অসীম। যাদবপুর বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের বিজ্ঞান বিভাগীয় ছাত্র-ছাত্রীদের কাছেও ইউনিভার্সিটির প্রথম দিন ঠিক তেমনি একযুগের সূচনা করে। নতুন জায়গা, নতুন বন্ধু, অচেনা কিছু মুখ, নতুন পথঘাট সবকিছুর মধ্যে দিয়ে শুরু হয় যদুবংশীয় পথ চলা।
হাইজেনবার্গের অনিশ্চয়তা নীতি যেমন নতুন তৈরি হওয়া প্রেমের অনিশ্চয়তার উত্তর দিতে পারেনা, যেমন মাইক্রোস্কোপের তলায় মিনারেল দেখতে পেয়েও তাকে সঠিকভাবে খুঁজে না পাওয়া বিরহের সমান, যেমন টেস্ট টিউবে রং বদলে ফেলা কেমিক্যাল এলিমেন্ট মনে আনন্দ আনে, যেমন একমুঠো হাসিতে জীবনের না মেলা অনেক সমস্যার সমাধান হয়ে যায় ঠিক তেমনি যাদবপুরে স্বপ্নের বীজ বপন হয়, নিজেকে তৈরি করার, আমি থেকে আমাদের হয়ে ওঠার গল্প রচিত হয়। এই গল্প রচনার এই নতুন পথ চলার শুরুতেই নবীনদের স্বাগত জানাতে আমাদের এই উদ্যোগ। যাদবপুর বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় বিজ্ঞান বিভাগীয় ছাত্র ছাত্রী সংসদ তথা SFSU বিজ্ঞান বিভাগের সকল ছাত্র-ছাত্রীদের এই ওরিয়েন্টেশন তথা YOUNITY তে আসার আহ্বান জানায়। ছোট ছোট কুঁড়িদের সমাবেশে স্মরণীয় হয়ে থাক এই দিনটা। বিজ্ঞান বিভাগের দাদা দিদিদের তরফ থেকে অপরিসীম ভালোবাসা।
A New Beginning at Jadavpur
Every journey begins with a first step. Some first steps are small, some change the course of our lives. And sometimes, a single day quietly marks the beginning of an entire era.
A new campus. New classrooms. New roads to get lost in. New faces whose names we may not remember at first, but whose stories may eventually become a part of our own. Somewhere between the first nervous introductions, the endless conversations, the unfamiliar corridors and the sudden feeling of belonging, a new chapter of life begins.
Science teaches us to question everything. Yet there are some things even science cannot completely explain.
No equation can calculate the excitement of meeting someone who may become a lifelong friend. No theory can predict the strange chemistry that turns a group of unfamiliar faces into a close-knit family. No microscope can reveal the memories that are waiting to be created. And no laboratory experiment can quite replicate the happiness of laughing together after a long day of classes.
Perhaps that is what makes university life so special.
Here, we do not simply collect degrees or attend lectures. We discover ourselves. We make mistakes, learn, grow, dream, argue, laugh and begin again. Somewhere along the way, the boundary between “me” and “us” slowly disappears.
Jadavpur is not merely a place where we study science; it is a place where we learn the science of living—with curiosity in our minds, dreams in our eyes and people beside us.
And today, as you stand at the very beginning of this journey, we invite you to take that first step with us.
The Science Faculty Students’ Union (SFSU), Jadavpur University, warmly welcomes all the newcomers to YOUNITY—a celebration of new faces, new friendships, new possibilities and the beginning of something unforgettable.
