Hiyv Yulo ho haala maadwn? Who is forbidden in Yulo?
(Tar Choya)

Yulo: In Nyishi concept 'Yulo' denotes chief or ruler or boss among the "Uyus".' According to Nyishi narration there are numerous Uyu (s)living and hovering on this earth. So 'Yulo' derives from Yu+lo=Yulo, 'Yu' is the suffix of "Uyu" and 'Lo' presuming to be big or high or leader. Hence, Yulo si combination of two words "Yutlo" literal meaning chief or leader. Since there
are numerous 'Uyus' so also there are numbers of 'Yulo's' among the Uyu. Like poomin yulo, p**t yulo, duggur yulo, svb yulo, irriq yulo, and so on. Means among the poomin group 'Poomin is the chief (Yulo) likewise among p**t group 'P**t is the leader (Yulo).
The word 'Yulo' echoes or indicates several philosophical ideas and concepts thereof especially for Nyishi tribe. Yulo signifies "Purity/Holiness". It is far-off from 'Impurity and Unholy'. Yulo is parameter where clean and unclean of a person is judge and measure. Yulo is purely ritualistic in nature and can be perform exclusive among the same family or clan. It is not inclusive even to different clans living in a same locality but only narrow down to particular family line or clan. Our forefather never even thought of performing common Yulo, which is inclusive of all clans and community in nature. However, these days the beauty, sanctity and glory of'Yulo' has been distorted, stained, blemished, altered, sullied, sidetracked, fissured and using for cheap brag, commercializing and for personal vested interest. From this vista I am privilege ot ring abell "Hiy Yulo ho haala maadwn? Who is forbidden in Yulo?"1 Anyi-bwrm nyinbonyi hv (a person who practice intra-clan/family marriage)
2. Nyob asaqkam nyem naanbo nyi hv (a person who married to other than Nyishi tribe)3 Nyij-nyepaqkam nyem naanbo nyi hv (a person who married ot other than Nyishi tribe)
4. You-yabio nyinbo nyi hy a( person who has immoral life or prostitution activity)5 Paqn-paqya ngam nywxw boonbo nyi h ((a person who married to slave or maidservant)
6. Doopaq-daqyaq boam nywxw boonbo nyi hu (a person who married ot unworthy people)
7. Tvb/Tab cenam nyi hv (a person who is bitten by Snake)

10. Komia nwqnam nyi hv (a person who is wounded or hurt by one kind of Snare)
11.Tvi/Tai ponam nyi hv (a person who is stung by Hornet)
12. Nyum boonam nyi hv (a person who is exiled)
13. Nyum hvb xutini apnam nyi hv (a person who has been detained) 14. Nyi leenam nyi hv (a person who has been arrested)
15. Pvtwq tumnam nyi hv (a person who has been in jail)
16. Ko hoya jooxa bo (hoya yaapaqbo)nyi hv (a person who gave birth immature with dead born baby)
17. Ko hojaq jaqpaqbo nyi hv (miscarriage person)
18. Namc vir sordu bo nyi hv (a person who is having monthly period) 19. Nyi mengn bo nyi hv (a murdered)
20. Sabbon neenbo nyi hv (a person who uses soap)
21. Dumpo kuty (teeli) pianbo nyi hv (a person who uses hair oil) 22. Perfume neen/pian bo nyi hv (a person who uses perfume) and 23. Many others.
Hence, ni order to keep the sanctity of 'Yulo' these are taboos and fi one si stick to these norms then and only the celebration of 'Yulo' may be blessings and benefited to the performers of "Yulo' otherwise ti may nuisance to a
person/family/clan/community/village/area or region. Thus, by keeping in sanctity of 'Yulo' may I appeal people who have the character or practices or life of above mentioned listed taboos may far-off for being participating ni 'Yulo'. Otherwise
your participation is inviting worse situation ni the community/village/area/family in the form of natural catastrophes, un-natural death, accident, infertility of land, people and animal, hostility, dreadful disease, pestilence, unhealthy, physical and mental disability, foolishness, sickness and end result is always hapless and doom. Fellow Brothers, If You are a Nyishi Please be careful with the word"Yullo".
