On 27th June 2026, Handicapped Development (HD) Foundation Manipur observed the Second World Deafblind Day Cum Felicitation Programme at the HD Foundation Activities Centre, Lamdeng Mayai Leikai. Various teaching strategies, activities, and approaches are being discussed and practiced during the sessions. The programme will continue for one week providing participants with opportunities for learning, discussion, and hands-on experience to improve inclusive teaching practices and better support children with disabilities.

On 22nd June 2026, an International Yoga Day cm Home-Based Therapy Programme for Parents was organised by the HD Foundation, Jan Vikas Samiti, DDRS Scheme of the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan) and the National Trust.The programme was organised to observe International Yoga Day 2026 and to promote the importance of yoga and home-based therapy for children with disabilities. Parents actively participated in the session and learned simple yoga practices and therapeutic activities that can be carried out at home to support their children's physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

The 2 Days Training Programme held on 28th & 29th May 2026 for Samagra Shiksha Resource Teachers in Manipur was successfully completed. The programme was organised by Sense International India in collaboration with HD Foundation and Samagra Shiksha, with support from Nelumbo Stiftung.

Today, on 2nd April 2026, World Autism Awareness Day was observed under the theme “Autism and Humanity – Every Life is Value” at the SJ Auditorium, Itocha Block, Shija Hospital.The programme was organized by the Handicapped Development Foundation, Manipur in collaboration with Shija Hospitals and Research Institute Pvt. Ltd. and the National Trust, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India.
The event aimed to raise awareness about autism, promote inclusion, and emphasize the importance of valuing every individual regardless of their abilities.

Dance Competition on World Down Syndrome Day 2026
This is to inform all HDF children and youngster persons with disabilities that a Dance Competition will be organized in observance of World Down Syndrome Day on 21st March 2026, with the aim of promoting awareness, inclusion, and celebrating the abilities of individuals with Down syndrome.
The theme for World Down Syndrome Day 2026 is Against Loneliness.
All interested HDF children and youngster persons with disabilities are requested to register their names with the organizing committee on or before the deadline.
Programme Details

• Occasion: World Down Syndrome Day 2026
• Last Date for Registration: 19th March 2026
• Venue: HDF Activities Centre, Lamdeng Mayai Leikai (near Ema Laikhurembi)

Today, Tuesday, 3rd March 2026, Handicapped Development (HD) Foundation, Manipur, in collaboration with BABINA HOSPITAL, Khabeisoi organized a One-Day Free Health Camp covering Pediatrics, ENT, and General Medicine at the HD Foundation Activity Centre, Lamdeng Mayai Leikai, near Ema Laikhurembi, Imphal West.During the camp, free medical consultations were provided and medicines were also distributed to the beneficiaries. The initiative aimed to extend accessible healthcare services to the local community, with special focus on persons with disabilities and underprivileged families.
