TLF is an independent, apolitical body for the growth and development of the Thadou language

The Thadou Linguistic Forum (TLF) is a body dedicated to the development of the Thadou language. TLF is strictly non-political and does not involve itself in political and other non-literary issues.
TLF was formed in 2019 by advocates of the Thadou dialect under the leadership of Pu Vomboi H. Hangshing, IAS (Retd.), as Chairman, and Pu Thangkhokhup S. Kipgen as Vice Chairman. The primary objective has always been to teach the youth essential Thadou vocabulary and to create new terminology. Additionally, the forum aims to train anyone interested in the language and host seminars to that end. These efforts have yielded positive results in the development of Thadou grammar, vocabulary and spoken language.
Upon its formation, respected Thadou elders and other members agreed to focus exclusively on the dialect’s development. Consequently, TLF exists solely as an independent body. It has never spoken against nor opposed any individual or group. Since its inception, the forum has trained Thadou MIL teachers and published books on the dialect. TLF leaders have consistently promoted the language using the resources from their own pockets.
While TLF was fully occupied with its linguistic mission, TI-GHQ released a press statement on March 5, 2026, listing TLF as an “unlawful organization”, much to the bewilderment of its leaders. To accuse an independent, apolitical body of acting outside its mandate remains an unexplained and baseless claim and the rea*ons still remain a mystery. As an independent organisation, TLF has not endorsed any individual or promoted any outside agenda.
TLF was established by respected elders and patriarchs passionate about the Thadou language. We declare that the accusations made by TI-GHQ are factually incorrect and morally wrong. TLF is a reputable body; those who understand our mission have not only appreciated our work but continue to offer their support and prayers.
TLF reaffirms its ambitions and objectives to the Thadou people today:
1. TLF is a voluntary literary forum. There are no specific qualification requirements to join. Anyone wishing to see the Thadou language grow may participate.
2. TLF calls upon the youth to learn traditional words and phrases. TLF’s objective is to teach correct spoken and written Thadou.
3. TLF is for everyone who speaks the Thadou language. It has no single owner nor any specific political support base.
As a forum dedicated to linguistic growth and led by learned elders, TLF appeals to the public to refrain from placing undue blame on the organization in the future. In following the vision of our past leaders, we ask for the people’s continued support in our cause to promote the unique Thadou language.
