At the end of the mirthful month of Yaoshang, on the 20th March 2017, a dire Facebook post was seen viral. It was none other than the case of Olympus, a 5 year old boy in need of immediate blood transfusion for his Blood Cancer treatment. The post moved most of the users in Facebook community and decided to give blood on the 23rd March 2017. It was unfortunate that the attempt failed due to cease
work strike at RIMS on that very day. The donation camp was rescheduled on the 27th March 2017, but the hope of saving the child was shattered and willing donors were left with a shock at the news of sudden demise of the child at the evening of 26th March 2017. Deeply hurt with the event, a Blood Donation Camp in the name of Olympus was decided to conduct. Surprisingly, hundreds of donors turned up in the auspicious day of donation and donated their blood in the name of Olympus. He left a note in the heart of each and everyone, an inspiration to serve the weaker section and needy people in this society. With the story of Olympus, the seed of Helping Hands for People, Manipur was sown in the soil of Manipur. Fellow countrymen, in some point of time, somewhere in the earth, there are many people who need your help to survive. A simple act of your kindness can make a huge impact in rebuilding a humane society. A helping hand is always better than a pair of praying lips.
