Strengthening organizations begins with strengthening the way we plan, implement, monitor, and learn from our programs.

As part of Niranthara Shikshak NE – Batch 2 (NNE-2), we conducted an intensive workshop on Program Planning Management (PPM) & MIS from 10th -12th August 2026, bringing together cohort members to deepen their understanding of structured and outcome-focused program management.
Over the sessions, participants engaged with practical approaches to
1. Stakeholder and problem analysis,
2. SMART objectives
3. Theory of Change
4. Indicators
5. MIS integration
6. Resource and activity planning
7. Monitoring & evaluation
8. SWOT & SOAR analysis and
9. Program reporting
More than exploring tools and frameworks, the workshop created space for participants to reflect on their current practices, identify organizational gaps, exchange experiences, and translate learning into concrete actions.
The larger goal is to enable grassroots organizations to build stronger systems and design evidence-based, outcome-focused programs aligned with their organizational vision and goals.

A meaningful learning journey towards stronger organizations and greater impact.

We are delighted to share highlights from the Workshop on Women Leadership and Women Land Rights, held from 26–29 June 2026 in Guwahati, under the theme:

"From Awareness to Action: Advancing Women Leadership and Land Rights in Customary Contexts."

Over four inspiring days, participants came together to reflect on achievements, exchange experiences, and explore practical pathways to strengthen women's leadership and secure women's land rights within customary governance systems.

The workshop provided a space for meaningful discussions on customary land tenure, legal frameworks, and the evolving landscape of land rights. Participants also deepened their understanding of gender concepts, social norms, power relations, and leadership, while identifying strategies to promote women's meaningful participation in governance and decision-making.

Together, participants developed practical recommendations and a shared roadmap to advance women's land rights and leadership, reinforcing the importance of collaboration, learning, and collective action in creating more inclusive, equitable, and gender-responsive communities.

A heartfelt thank you to all participants, facilitators, and partners whose valuable contributions made this workshop a success. Together, we continue moving from awareness to action.

Strengthening organisations begins with strengthening their people and systems.

Over the past week, we conducted the HR Workshops for the Imphal Cluster (11th & 12th June) and Assam Cluster (16th & 17th June), engaging Organisation Leaders, Compliance & Finance Managers, and HR personnel from all 32 cohort partner organisations of Niranthara NorthEast Batch 2 under the Organisational Development program for Grassroots Organisations.

The workshop, under Organisation Change Management (OCM), focused on deepening the understanding of the critical role of Human Resource Management systems in building resilient, efficient, and people-centered organisations. It also explored the statutory and legal dimensions of HR practices, enabling partners to strengthen compliance and institutional accountability.

In the grassroots development ecosystem, robust HR systems are often overlooked, yet they remain foundational for sustainability, team well-being, and organisational growth. Workshops like these create much-needed spaces for learning, reflection, and system strengthening.

We are glad to see Realm of Nature Based Actions - RNBA , in partnership with Dhwani Foundation, continue enabling grassroots organisations to build stronger internal systems, ensuring they are better equipped to create long-term impact in their communities.

🌍 World Environment Day 2026

Protecting our environment requires more than awareness—it requires sustained action, community ownership, and long-term commitment.
At Realm of Nature Based Actions - RNBA, we are privileged to work alongside communities in building resilient ecosystems and sustainable livelihoods through locally rooted conservation initiatives.
Through Sloping Agricultural Land Technology (SALT), we support farmers in transitioning towards permanent and sustainable farming systems that reduce dependence on shifting cultivation (Jhum), improve soil conservation, and enhance long-term productivity.
Through Forest Regeneration of Locally Important Species (FoRLIS), we are contributing to the restoration of degraded landscapes by promoting native species that are ecologically significant and culturally valued by local communities.
Our Community Stewardship Model for Ecosystem Management places communities at the center of conservation efforts, strengthening local ownership and ensuring that environmental protection remains sustainable for future generations.
This World Environment Day, we reaffirm our belief that meaningful environmental change happens when communities, knowledge, and nature work together.

4. Building a greener future for generations to come.

“Good governance is not just about systems — it is about shared vision, accountability, and leadership.”

From 18–21 May 2026, we conducted a Governance Training for the Imphal Cluster, bringing together leaders and board members to reflect, learn, and strengthen organizational governance practices for sustainable growth.

Across four enriching days, participants explored:

🔹 Leadership vision, strategy, and governance

🔹 Roles and responsibilities of boards and CFMs

🔹 Effective meetings and documentation practices

🔹 Fundraising and communication strategies

🔹 Organizational assessments and learning tools

🔹 MIS and technology systems for stronger management and tracking

What stood out most was the openness, participation, and collective commitment to building organizations that are mission-driven, accountable, and future-ready.

Grateful to everyone who contributed their insights, experiences, and energy throughout the training.

On the occasion of the International Day for Biological Diversity, Landstack - Center for Land, along with Realm of Nature Based Actions - RNBA and partners Prda Bishnupur, Rongmei Baptist Association and EAC Relief & Development Department, came together for a short storytelling session rooted in the villages and landscapes of Northeast India.

This year’s theme, “Acting locally for global impact,” came alive through stories that showed how biodiversity is not abstract, but deeply local, relational and lived.

From a clan that protects the dove as a totem passed down by forefathers, creating a strong moral and spiritual responsibility against harming the bird, to Loktak Lake being remembered as a living ecosystem and “mother of nature” for communities; from forests that sustain medicine, farming, food, water, wildlife and community well-being, to species found only in particular mountains, rivers and habitats — each story reminded us that biodiversity is closely tied to culture, memory, identity and care.

These communities have long read nature through ecological indicators such as bird calls, flowering patterns, migratory birds like the Amur Falcon, the condition of snails, and seasonal rhythms — reflecting knowledge systems shaped by generations of observation, care and restraint, rather than mere belief or anecdote.

The key message was clear: biodiversity conservation is not only about protection in the formal sense. It is also about sustaining relationships — between people and forests, wetlands, rivers, wildlife, food systems, culture and memory.

Across these stories, communities are not waiting for global frameworks to tell them how to protect nature. Through their everyday practices of care, knowledge and agency, they are already contributing to the larger goals of biological diversity conservation.

While their actions may be local, their significance is global.

We are proud to share that Abigail Phaomei from Realm of Nature Based Actions - RNBA has successfully completed the Dasra Social Impact Leadership Program (DSILP) 2025–2026 under Dasra Social Impact.

Abigail shared about her journey with DSILP as a highly enriching and insightful experience, equipping participants with valuable knowledge and practical skills in leadership, teamwork, and decision-making through interactive sessions, discussions, and case studies.

The program also fostered critical thinking, collaboration, and personal growth, empowering emerging leaders to drive meaningful change in the social sector.

We are proud to celebrate a major milestone —

The successful completion of our Organization Development (OD) program under the Northeast Organizational Development for Empowerment (NoDe), implemented by Sisters Development Assistance (SeSTA) and funded by Axis Bank Foundation.

Through this intensive journey, our organization has achieved measurable strengthening across Governance, HR systems, IT & MIS, Accounts & Finance, and Program Implementation. Participation in central thematic workshops, peer learning platforms, exposure visits, and proposal development sessions has sharpened our institutional capabilities and strategic direction. We have also established key organizational policies that will support sustainable growth, accountability, and professional excellence.

This achievement marks a significant step forward in our commitment to building a resilient, well-governed, and impact-driven organization.
