Estd: 1991. Palette People started in 1991 with a mission to promote art and culture within Kerala. Through a small gallery in Panampilly Nagar, Kochi, India, Palette People conducted exhibitions of budding and eminent artists like Kamala Das and CN Karunakaran. In the early 2000's Palette People moved it's gallery, The Art Corridor, to the Le Meridien, Kochi and has since then organized many exhi
bitions and art camps especially for budding Kerala artists. Proceeds from sale through our gallery is shared with organizations helping the underprivileged. In the late 2000's an artist residency farm house of its artist founder was established in Vagamon, a sleepy hill station on Kerala's edge of the western ghats. The property filled with green rolling meadows, agriculture like wild ginger, tea, orange, cardamon and farm animals provides local food and a studio space for its artist visitors. Though a clear detox from the hustle and bustle of the city, Vagamon is just a 2 hour drive from Kochi. Visitors from across the world have used the residency to create their own art and be a part of community art projects. For those who like the outdoors there is an opportunity to visit out cattle farm or a trek to the neighboring forests. Since 2014, the Residency has also been the venue of the Kochi-Muziris Biennale's Post Graduate Residency Program, a fully sponsored 10 day residency promoting young artists through practice, research and community projects. Palette People is run by Mr. Cyril P Jacob who is an artist, art lover and a former member of the Lalit Kala Academy, Kerala. We aim to make this a venue for artists to enjoy art and connect with nature.
