The name WIFRIN came from a group of values which are Wisdom, Integrity, Faith, Respect, Ideal, Neutral. We wanted to follow all these values to run our foundation. We, the group of Software Engineers decided to visit government schools of Hyderabad and interact with students to let them know the importance of education and to motivate towards going for higher studies after schooling. As we decide
d, we started doing from the year 2012. While we were interacting with the Xth standard students, we used to ask them a question “What do you want to study after Xth standard ?”.We got struck when one of the students said “I want to do higher studies after Xth standard, but I don’t know whether my parents allow me or not”. He was concerned about his family financial position. So, that was the moment we got to know that some students from government schools are not able to go for higher studies after Xth standard just because of their family financial situations. That was the same moment we determined to do some little financial help to such students who wish to go for higher studies after their schooling. We were 8 at that time and we started contributing ₹100/- per month with an intention of collecting ₹9600/- per year and spend for students. We were contributing till 2015 and we had kept on telling to Xth standard students that we can help them financially for their studies. In 2015, there was a student called Kavya from government school who passed out Xth standard with 83% of marks approached us for help and we said yes as we had enough money at that time to spend for her Intermediate(+2) academic fees. We thought that all the money that we had been saving since 2012 can be spent for her education. At the same time in 2015, another student called Sandhya who was also a Xth standard passed out from same government school approached us for financial help for Intermediate (+2). As we have already committed for Kavya by that time, we approached to a donor, Bhavani Nugooru in our organization where we were working and requested for help. Fortunately, she had come forward to help Sandhya. After few days, Srikanth who was a passed out of government school in 2013 had approached us for financial help for his graduation. This time, we have requested few of our colleagues to donate some money to help. We collected money from our colleagues and paid fees for Srikanth. After we paid fees for Srikanth, a question has raised in our minds which is “What if another student approached us and if so, where we can go and get money?” We had already approached donor and our colleagues and it would not be good to go to them again for financial help. At that time, we got an idea that, instead of collecting funds whenever it is required from various people, we thought to start a foundation with group of people who can contribute ₹100 per month. That was how “WIFRIN FOUNDATION” started. of Telangana, India under Societies Registration Act 2001. Initially we invited our friends and colleagues to be a part of our WIFRIN FOUNDATION. Why only ₹100 per month as a contribution? Members in our foundation should not feel difficult when they contribute for foundation. It looks like a small amount for a single person, but if it comes from a group of some 100 members it will become ₹10,000 per month and ₹1,20,000 per year which can support more needy students financially. It is minimum contribution ₹100 per month for a member and it will be accepted if any member wants to contribute more than ₹100 per month occasionally or regularly.
