Remembering the Moplah Genocide: A brutal Campaign of Jihad and Hindu Extermination.
On 25th September 1921, the Moplah rebellion witnessed the gruesome massacre of 38 innocent Hindus, who were brutally killed and thrown into the Thuvoor well. This atrocity was part of a larger campaign fueled by religious extremism and calls for an Islamic Caliphate in Malabar. Thousands of Hindus were killed, women were violated, and forced conversions were rampant. Monlah heels removal
The Moplahs, inspired by jihadist teachings, unleashed unspeakable atrocities. Over 2,500 Hindus were massacred, thousands were forcibly converted, and countless women were r***d and molested. The violence was so extreme that victims were often forced to dig their own graves before being slaughtered. Entire Hindu communities were wiped out, and properties were looted and destroyed. Those who managed to survive the massacre were left to flee as refugees.
The rebellion persisted for six months, during which Moplah zealots carried out systematic killings of Hindus. International media and British officials documented the extent of the atrocities, confirming that the rebellion was a "holy war" rather than a mere anti-British uprising. Even within India, the Moplah Rebellion became a deeply polarizing event, exposing the dangers of religious extremism. The forced conversions of over 2,500 Hindus were recorded by relief organizations, with the Arya Samaj alone noting over 1,700 cases.
The Vivekananda Youth Forum remembers the innocent Hindu victims of this tragic event and condemns the religious dogmatism and fanaticism that fueled this brutal genocide. It is imperative to acknowledge these dark chapters of history to ensure that such cruelty, fueled by hatred and extremism, is never repeated.
