Net Impact Schulich is proud to have collaborated our fellow chapter at Rotman School of Business.

The evening brought a vital realization: we cannot automate our way out of an ESG crisis. While AI is a monumental tool, human stewardship is what will ultimately determine its success.

To summarize our biggest takeaways into 6 key insights:

🍀We are moving beyond Artificial Intelligence into an era of artificial wisdom, where human values must strictly guide technological outputs.

🍀As we optimize our systems, we must simultaneously confront the massive environmental footprint of the data centers powering these algorithms.

🍀Technology carries the inherent bias of its developers, making equitable access to the creation of these models a core sustainability imperative.

🍀The flood of automated content is causing a market shift that places a massive premium on authentic human creativity and storytelling.

🍀Data sovereignty is paramount, ensuring that Indigenous communities retain absolute ownership over their cultural and environmental information.

🍀In an age of effortless data generation, the true professional superpower is critical thinking and the ability to confidently spot inaccuracies.

Net Impact Schulich is deeply grateful to our panelists Katie Elder, Harman Gill, Nishish Jha, Darren Elias, Ferdous K. Noman, Atharv Agrawal, Natasha Shute, Denise Lee, Kate Gatto and Katerina Nieboer for being so open and humble in sharing their experience. The audience certainly learnt a lot from both their perspectives and career journeys.

The ultimate lesson was clear: Sharpen your algorithms, but cultivate your human judgment even more.
