🌱 ‘SBI Gram Seva’ CSR Programme inaugurated in Peddapothulapadu, Gadwal District 🌱
SBI Foundation, the CSR arm of the State Bank of India, formally launched its ‘Gram Seva’ programme at Peddapothulapadu Village, Manopad Block, Jogulamba Gadwal District, marking a significant step towards holistic rural development and socio-economic empowerment.
The programme was inaugurated in the august presence of Dr. Mallu Ravi, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Nagarkurnool; Shri Vijayudu, Hon’ble MLA, Alampur; Shri B. M. Santosh, IAS, District Collector & Magistrate, Jogulamba Gadwal; Shri S. Radhakrishnan, CGM, SBI Hyderabad Circle; Shri Swapan Dhar, MD & CEO, SBI Foundation; Lt Gen Hari Prasad (Retd.), Managing Trustee, Bhavishya Bharat, along with senior officials from SBI, District Administration, and community representatives.
Implemented in partnership with Bhavishya Bharat, the project aims to empower communities through a comprehensive set of interventions across education, healthcare, sanitation, youth skilling, livelihoods, and essential rural services.
🚀 Key highlights of the inauguration include:
* Flag-off of ‘Shalihotra Express’ – Mobile Veterinary Services
* Launch of ‘Swachhta Saathi’ – Waste Management Services
* Inauguration of Smart Classroom, Computer Lab & Science Lab at Government High School, Chinnipadu
* Inauguration of a fully equipped Youth Training Centre, named after Telangana’s brave son Col. Bikkumalla Santosh Babu (MVC), offering free training for holistic youth development
* Installation of Solar Streetlights and repair & upgradation of Government Schools and Anganwadis
🗣️ Speaking at the event, Dr. Mallu Ravi, MP, appreciated SBI Foundation’s commitment to village upliftment and assured full support and convergence from both Central and State Governments through the District Administration.
📽️ Shri Challa Sreenivasulu Setty, Chairman, SBI, in his video message, urged active participation of local stakeholders and highlighted that collective efforts can bring villages closer to Mahatma Gandhi’s vision of Gram Swaraj and Viksit Bharat @2047.
💬 Shri S. Radhakrishnan, CGM, SBI Hyderabad Circle, reiterated SBI’s steadfast commitment to grassroots rural development, while Shri B. M. Santosh, IAS, noted that such CSR initiatives significantly accelerate district-level progress in literacy and human development indicators.
The event witnessed the active participation of Gram Panchayat members, SBI officials, Bhavishya Bharat team, and a large number of community members, reflecting strong local ownership of the initiative.
