We believe that "If children and youth from marginalized backgrounds are provided adequate knowledge and a supportive environment, they will be able to make better choices with respect to their future lives. If the youth make responsible choices, they will lead a contended life and contribute more responsibly for creating an economically and socially developed India." Young professionals from the
society can play a very strong complementary role in this process. Wezen thus connects adolescents with young professionals employed in different fields/sectors, to provide them informative and relevant occupational information especially in connection with their pursuit of economic opportunities. As this is important in the early career stages, we work with adolescents in the age group 13 to 18 years i.e those studying in classes IX to XII standards. With a view to reach out to the underprivileged children we focus on students in government schools especially adolescents girls, disabled, street children, minorities and those residing in slums.
