Time to time, accidents like the Gulzar Houz fire expose the countries lack of value for the citizens of this country. I guess that it serves as the trade off we are forced into in lieu of the massive population of the country.
The infrastructure that currently exists in the country never facilitates safety or comfort for the general crowd. Moments like these compel its youth to leave the country to wander and find a different country calling it home.
We always blame Indians for lack of civic sense, but the reality is that it needs to be pushed down from the top. The administration needs to ensure that standards are maintained and protocols are followed for builing and maintaining of all civil and governmental infrastructure, and then regulate citizens to follow rules.
You cannot give them s**t and expect them to be in their best shape. Just last week, Charminar was beautified to such an extent that it was unrecognizable to me and you. It was all just for the visitors who will be temporarily staying in the city and leave. But we are here to stay, and we are provided with nothing.
As long as this mindset remains, there can be no good for Hyderabad or the Hyderabadis staying in. More lives will be lost for nothing, with unhinged and unaccounted politicians making their fortunes out of the worthless commoners of the city, state and country.
