GANITH , the mathematics club, under "Mitramahas" of H&S, was declared open on 18th august, 2012 at 1.32 PM on the occassaion of 125th Srinivasa Ramanujan's Birth anniversary celebrations, marking the first event of Ganith in the presence of the dignitaries :

t started off with the lighting of the lamp by the faculty of mathematics dept, Dr.P.Kousalya, asst.prof. Purnima, and asst.prof.Prasad and was further continued by prayer song, by Renuka and Anusha of II btech. The gathering was then addressed by Prof.V.kannan, former vice chancellor and prof. VC at university of hyd with few valuable suggestions to the students about how to makeup their career and followed by his presentation on reminiscences of Srinavasa Ramanujan and Beauty of Mathematics which was quite impressive and informative. Thanks to Prof.V.kannan for spending his valuable time and sharing few interesting facts about mathematics. "VBIT is to be appreciated for its efforts to produce valuable citizens, not merely the students who pass exam", he opined in the guest lecture that was delivered by him in the inaugural event of Ganith.
