From the recent Job Mela cohort in Hyderabad, 70 women who appeared for their LLR tests are now attending structured on-ground 2-wheeler and 3-wheeler driving sessions.

After road safety classes and getting valid Learner’s Licenses, the focus shifts to supervised practical training in controlled environments.

Implementation includes:
• Small-batch sessions for individual attention
• Step-by-step riding progression
• Repetition-based drills for balance, control, braking, and maneuvering
• Strict safety protocols

While some participants began with visible hesitation — particularly first-time riders — consistent practice is leading to steady improvement in vehicle control and road awareness.

All sessions are delivered by women trainers, ensuring a culturally comfortable and safe learning space.

This is a part of the Women Drivers livelihood pilot, implemented in partnership with Telangana Women Safety Wing

We also acknowledge the support of and for vehicle support in this training phase.

7 Years of MOWO 💛

As we celebrate 7 years, our hearts are full of gratitude.

To every woman who walked into our training centre with hope, courage, and determination — thank you for trusting us and choosing to take the wheel of your own journey.

To our trainers and field teams who show up every single day with patience and belief — this milestone is yours.

To our partners across government, industry, philanthropy, and civil society — thank you for backing an idea that challenged norms and reimagined mobility.

To the colleges, self-help groups, and communities who opened their doors — thank you for helping us reach women at the grassroots.

From launching India’s first Motor Training Centre for women, to EV trainings, bus driving programs, research, summits, and livelihood initiatives across cities — none of this would have been possible without you.

Seven years.
Thousands of women trained.
Countless journeys begun.

We’re grateful for every step of this road — and excited for what lies ahead. 💫

7 Years of MOWO Social Initiatives 💛

7 years ago, we set out with a simple but powerful belief — women belong in mobility.

Today, we celebrate a movement.

Pivotal in India’s first Motor Training Centre for women built by Dept of WCD — a first-of-its-kind safe space where women learn to drive, build confidence, and step into economic independence in a non-traditional sector.

⚡ All trainings transitioned to electric vehicles — because women must be part of the future of sustainable mobility.

🚌 Women Bus Driving Program — breaking barriers and expanding women’s presence in public transport.

🌍 Moving Boundaries I & II — shifting narratives and challenging who gets to occupy public roads.

🎤 MoBo Summits I & II — bringing together leaders and changemakers to push inclusive mobility forward.

📊 3 Research Papers — grounding our work in data and strengthening the case for women in mobility.

💼 Livelihood programs in Charminar, Warangal, and Madurai, along with large-scale Job Melas — connecting women to dignified earning opportunities.

🎓 Trainings in Government Girls’ Colleges & with Self-Help Group women — taking skills and opportunity to the grassroots.

Thousands of women trained.
Countless journeys begun.
A growing community that refuses to slow down.

Deep gratitude to all those who supported us through this journey!

When civic society organisations come together with shared intent, impact multiplies.
With the support of Mahita, MOWO implemented an EV Two-Wheeler Driving Training Program in Hyderabad between December 2025 and February 2026.

30 women enrolled.
3 structured batches.
100% completion.

This program focused on safety, confidence-building, and end-to-end licensing support — ensuring women became road-ready with licenses.

Importantly, this was not a livelihood-linked intervention,Mahita recognised driving as an essential life skill for women’s independent mobility, and supported it as such.

We deeply appreciate Mahita’s partnership in expanding access to mobility.

Collaborations like these help transform mobility from a privilege into access.

For women entering driving-based livelihoods, the first hurdle is clearing the Learner’s Licence (LLR).

In the recent Job Mela program in Hyderabad, while many women registered their interest, only around 130 could attend LLR theory sessions — mainly because computer-based RTA tests need language and digital confidence.

With step-by-step support — theory sessions in three languages, help with documents, RTA mapping, and mock tests — 70 women appeared for the LLR test. 67 cleared, one is being supported to reattempt, and others continue in the pipeline.

For many women, passing the LLR is a big milestone.

Some came back with sweets to celebrate, holding their certificates with pride — small moments that mean a lot.

This work is being carried out in partnership with the Telangana Women Safety Wing, where early handholding is treated as a crucial part of helping women step into driving roles.

On 3 January 2026, the Women Drivers Job Mela in Hyderabad saw an overwhelming response.
🚦 880+ women registered interest!
Women came ready to work, and ready to get trained.
What followed was a clear, phased pathway toward training, licensing, and jobs.
This was a collective effort — made possible by the women who showed up, student volunteers from Loyola Academy, mobility partners, and teams from Telangana Women Safety Wing and MOWO Social Initiatives.

Phase 1 goal: Enable 300 women drivers.

𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮!

We are deeply grateful to everyone who made the Women Drivers Job Mela, a grand success, organisesd in collaboration with Women Safety Wing Telangana.

With 700+ women showing up with hope, courage, and aspiration, the response reaffirmed why collective action matters.

Our sincere thanks to:
• Hyderbad City Police for their outreach and institutional support.
• Ecosystem partners — Mahindra Last Mile Mobility, BGAUSS, Bounce, Bijliride, Hala Mobility, EVZIP, Zippi rides for opening up livelihood avenues.
• The student volunteers from Loyola Academy, Hyderabad for their energy and on-ground support
• Our women trainers, volunteers, facilitators, and field team for their patience and care throughout the day

Most importantly, we thank the women who came forward in such large numbers for dignified livelihoods through mobility.

As the year comes to a close, we pause to look back with gratitude — and ahead with renewed purpose. 💛

This year at MOWO was about deepening impact and widening the road.

🤝We built meaningful partnerships — with Villgro in Warangal, Tamahar and Piramal Foundation in Bengaluru, Kriti Trust in Hyderabad, Cholan Tours, Vertelo, SERP, and FreshBus — each collaboration helping women step into mobility, livelihoods, and confidence.

📍We expanded our work to new territories — Sangareddy, Karimnagar, and Madurai — taking women-led mobility to more communities than ever before.

💬 We convened conversations and action through the MOBO 2 Summit, where we launched two important reports Impact Evaluation of the Motor Training Centre on Women’s Mobility Beyond Transportation: The Profound Impact of Mobility on Women’s Lives‌

🚌 And in a major milestone - we began bus driving training, opening doors to non-traditional, dignified livelihoods for women.

Every milestone this year was powered by women who chose courage, partners who believed in the vision, and a shared commitment to equity on the road.

🚦 Here’s to more journeys, more jobs, and many more women in the driver’s seat. Onward. Always. ✨
