For thousands of years, bees and people have shared a unique partnership. From traditional honey hunting practices to modern beekeeping systems, this relationship has evolved across cultures, landscapes and communities, supporting food, livelihoods and ecological balance.

This World Bee Day, ICAR joins the global theme highlighting how humans and bees work together to nourish people and sustain the environment.

Bees are indispensable pollinators that strengthen agricultural productivity, biodiversity and nutritional security. At the same time, beekeeping supports livelihoods, empowers rural communities, and creates opportunities for women and youth.

By combining traditional wisdom with scientific innovation, promoting bee health, sustainable apiculture and pollinator-friendly farming, we can build resilient agrifood systems for the future.

Earth is our one and only home. Wherever we live, protecting the planet is a shared responsibility.

Mother Earth has given us everything, yet we have repaid her with reckless destruction, said UN Secretary-General António Guterres on Wednesday’s International Mother Earth Day.

“We must break our dependence on fossil fuels, protect and restore nature at scale, and deliver climate justice for those who did least to cause this crisis yet suffer the most,” he urged, calling on governments and businesses to step up ambition on climate action.

From reducing food waste to saving energy and buying local, we can all take action and make every day Earth Day.

IFAD and the Government of are scaling up successful income‑raising interventions across agricultural value chains to reach 150,000 people in rural Mizoram over the next 6 years.

The new US$45.78 million financing agreement builds on an earlier IFAD‑financed programme in the region, which successfully raised incomes by 43% through improved market access and integrated farming practices.

In alignment with India’s priorities for inclusive and climate‑resilient growth, the programme’s second phase will support smallholder farmers and rural enterprises to move from subsistence to market‑oriented production – improving how crops and livestock products are produced, aggregated, processed and sold.

The Foundation for Agriculture Sustainability and Transformation (FAST) has introduced the 'FAST 4 Farm Prosperity' program, a pan-India digital initiative, as it celebrates its six-year milestone which is primarily serving the needs of Telugu-speaking farmers in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and parts of Karnataka, providing customized solutions through WhatsApp groups tailored to address their specific concerns.
We believe in multi-stakeholder engagement in sustainable successes with long-lasting impact. Our key success partners are the Department of Agriculture, Warangal, Government of Telangana and Regional Agriculture Research Station, Warangal, Professor Jayashankar Telangana Agricultural University. On the occasion of our 6th Successive Successful Celebrations, our Director, Digital Lead and Volunteer Mr. Ramchander Rao Jojula met with District Agriculture Officer, Warangal Mrs. K. Anuradha and Dr. Ravula Uma Reddy, Associate Director of Research, and expressed gratitude and acknowledged their contributions.
