Hyderabad, India — The Center for Healthcare Entrepreneurship (CfHE), IIT Hyderabad has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Swastava Cancer Care, marking a strategic collaboration to advance cancer screening, diagnosis, and therapy technologies, to create an impact at a large-scale through community outreach programs aimed at cancer prevention and early detection.
The partnership brings together CfHE’s strength in medical device innovation, healthcare entrepreneurship, and startup incubation with Swastava’s deep grassroots engagement in cancer awareness, screening, and youth empowerment. Together, the two organizations will work towards technology-driven, affordable, and accessible cancer care, with a strong focus on rural areas, tier-2 and tier-3 cities, and underserved communities. Key areas of collaboration include development, clinical trials, and deployment of innovative medical devices for cancer screening and diagnosis, AI-enabled screening protocols, research and development on cancer-specific biomarkers, and large-scale awareness and screening camps. Special emphasis will be placed on cancers prevalent among women, including cervical, breast, ovarian, and uterine cancers, along with preventive initiatives such as tobacco-awareness programs, menstrual hygiene education, and HPV vaccination drives for adolescent girls.
Speaking on the occasion, Professor Renu John, the Founding Director and Head of CfHE said:

By combining cutting-edge medical technology, entrepreneurship, and last-mile deployment with Swastava’s outreach strength, we aim to make early cancer detection and prevention scalable, affordable, and accessible where it matters most.”
The Mission Director Mr Vasudev Chaturvedi of Swastava Cancer Care added:
“Awareness and early screening save lives, but only when they reach the right people at the right time. Partnering with CfHE allows us to strengthen our mission with advanced technologies and research-driven solutions, especially for women and youth in rural and underserved regions.”
Both CfHE and Swastava expect this partnership to significantly scale up cancer screening, diagnosis, and monitoring efforts, leading to improved outcomes through early detection and sustained community engagement.
