Message from Desika Sabha Hyderabad - Secunderabad
The Annual recitation competitions (N Narasimha Iyengar Memorial Recitation competitions – 57th Thiruppavai Festival) in Thiruppavai, Vaaranamaayiram, Desika Stotram, Desika Prabhandham) was conducted grandly on Sunday, 05-01-2025 at Kowtha Swarajya Vihar, Padmarao Nagar, Secunderabad. About 91 students participated in this competition in various categories. Children as young as 3 years recited Thiruppavai, Vaaranamaayiram, Desika Prabhandham and Desika Stotrams. It was a great sight to see young children participating in large numbers. The competition was immediately followed by the prize distribution function where all winners were awarded prizes by Upanyasakar Swamy Sri Thirukkudandhai Dr. Sri U. Ve. Venkatesh Swamy, Sri Gopikrishna Manepally garu, (Director, Manepally Jewellers, Hyderabad, the devotee who constructed Swarnagiri Temple near Yadagirigutta), Sri Krishnan Swamy (Honorable President, Sri Desika Sabha) , Sri TT Raman Swamy and Sri Ramaswamy (DC) (Honorable Vice- Presidents of Sri Desika Sabha).Delicious prasadam was served to all the participants and their parents.
Sri TT Raman Swamy and Sri Ramaswamy (DC) were facilitated by Upanyasakar Swamy and Sri Gopikrishna Manepally garu for their illustrious service throughout these years for Sri Desika Sabha. Few Students from Alwal chanted Dayashatakam and all devotees were amazed to see the children master the lengthy hymn which is dear to Lord Venkateshwara of Seven Hils.
Sri N.T.Seshadri Swamy, secretary of the Sabha thanked all the gurus and parents for encouraging the children to participate in the event.
