Rainbow Homes Program offers a unique child and community-centric model of care which helps vulnerable children access their basic rights of a safe, loving and happy childhood. Rainbow Homes Program (RHP) is a PAN India caring movement run by Rainbow Foundation India (RFI), an Indian non-profit organization registered under Societies Registration Act since 1990, in collaboration with diverse partn

ers in many cities across India. These children were/are abandoned, have run away from violent and abusive situations, grown up in violence, are victims of s*xual, physical and mental abuse, and children of s*x workers and manual scavengers in rural and urban India. Rainbow Homes rescues these children from a life of uncertainty, helplessness, and impending criminalisation through its residential and community-based care. Rainbow Homes Program aims to enable these children to live a dignified & independent life with a job, housing and social network. The range of services encompasses unconditional love, protection, shelter security, food and health care, emotional well-being, education, life skills, recreation, and a nurturing environment for holistic development. Pursuing its mission with dedication, RHP has impacted 14,650 children living in street situations. Currently, it extends comprehensive care to 5,138 children across 47 Residential Homes, with an additional 1,517 benefiting from the Community-Based Care model, and 742 above 18 enrolled in the Future Program in 10 cities across 9 states in India.

Our annual Child Protection Officer (CPO) Refresher Training is underway across the Rainbow Homes Program locations.
This July, we successfully concluded our annual 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗿 (𝗖𝗣𝗢) 𝗥𝗲𝗳𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 across all program locations through zonal trainings in Patna, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad.
What makes our approach unique? Children themselves elect the staff member they trust to serve as their Child Protection Officer, ensuring their voices remain at the heart of our safeguarding framework.
Together, we continue to strengthen prevention, accountability, and a culture of care where every child can thrive.

This June, we had the privilege of bringing together our incredible Home Mothers from Rainbow North Zone— 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗻𝗮, 𝗣𝘂𝗻𝗲, 𝗞𝗼𝗹𝗸𝗮𝘁𝗮, 𝗥𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗶, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗲𝗹𝗵𝗶 for a foundational training in 𝗞𝗼𝗹𝗸𝗮𝘁𝗮—a gathering that celebrated not just learning, but the remarkable women who nurture, guide, and inspire our children every day.

Moving beyond conventional classroom sessions, the training embraced an experiential and interactive approach through meaningful group reflections, thought-provoking discussions inspired by the movie ‘Laapataa Ladies’, and a well-deserved day of recreation. It became a space to connect, reflect, recharge, and celebrate the invaluable role these women play in shaping young lives.
To our Home Mothers—thank you for being the constant source of love, stability, hope, and belonging for every child in the Rainbow Homes family. Your compassion creates homes where children don't just grow—they thrive.💛

The last weekend marked a proud and inspiring milestone for the 𝗥𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗯𝗼𝘄 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 as its Youth-Led 🌈𝗬𝘂𝘃𝗮 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗸𝘁𝗶 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝘂𝗺 was inaugurated in Patna and Delhi, bringing together young leaders ready to creating a positive social change.

In Patna, over 60 young adults from Rainbow Homes across Patna and Ranchi came together with Rainbow and partner organization teams, while in Delhi, more than 80 young adults joined hands alongside Rainbow teams, dignitaries, supporters, and friends of Rainbow to celebrate the beginning of this transformative journey. Both the events were enriched by the presence of inspiring voices from the field of child rights, social development, and civil society, whose encouragement reaffirmed the immense potential of young people to lead meaningful change.

The most inspiring moments came from the youth themselves, who passionately shared their dreams, responsibilities, and commitment to giving back to society, standing up for their rights, and becoming active agents of change.

🌈Rainbow Homes Program successfully conducted a 3-day National Workshop on 𝑪𝒉𝒊𝒍𝒅 𝑷𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒊𝒑𝒂𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒚 𝑹𝒆𝒗𝒊𝒆𝒘 & 𝑹𝒆𝒇𝒍𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 (𝑪𝑷𝑹𝑹) 𝒊𝒏 𝑹𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒉𝒊, bringing together 30 participants from Delhi, Patna, Ranchi, and consortium partners.
Through interactive learning, PRA tools, facilitation exercises, group reflections, and field demonstrations, the workshop strengthened practical understanding of meaningful child participation in Residential & Community-Based Care programs.
Facilitated by experts Indu Prakash and Deepti, along with the Rainbow national team, the sessions encouraged inclusion, ownership, communication, and active involvement of children in decision-making processes.
The workshop concluded with strong collective learnings and action plans to further embed children’s voices at the centre of care and development.🌈

Yesterday, the Rainbow Homes Hyderabad team, along with our young sailing stars Rameeza Bhanu and Lithika, had the honour of meeting Hon’ble Minister D. Anasuya Seethakka at the Secretariat. The Minister congratulated Rameeza for her remarkable achievements in representing India at international sailing competitions in Oman and Singapore.
As Rameeza and Lithika prepare to represent India once again at the upcoming International Sailing Competition in Morocco next week, the Minister extended her blessings and encouragement, appreciating the young talent of Telangana for bringing pride to the nation on global platforms.
We are immensely proud of Rameeza and Lithika for their dedication, courage, and inspiring journey in sailing.

🌈𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀, 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗱🌈

Earlier this week, the Rainbow Homes Program in Pune organized a meaningful Life Skills session for 40 parents of children from the residential care program, in collaboration with expert resource persons from Dignity Foundation.
The session focused on child marriage prevention and awareness about the POCSO Act, highlighting key issues such as poverty, gender inequality, social pressure, and lack of education. Parents also learned about children’s rights, mandatory reporting, and child-friendly protection practices under the POCSO Act.

What stood out most was the parents’ shared dream for their children — not just success, but becoming kind, responsible, and compassionate human beings.
The session concluded with a powerful message: every child deserves a safe childhood, quality education, and the freedom to dream with dignity.
Together, aware parents and strong communities can build a safer future for every child.💙

With immense pride and joy, we celebrate our Rainbow Home champion, 𝗥𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗲𝘇𝗮, for securing a 𝗦𝗶𝗹𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗮𝗹 at the prestigious 𝗬𝗔𝗜 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 – a National Ranking Competition held at Marve, Mumbai (2nd–8th May).

Through interactive sessions, creative poster-making, tree plantation, and cleanliness drives, children explored the importance of sustainability, waste management, and caring for our planet.🌱
