Rainbow Homes Program offers a unique child and community-centric model of care which helps vulnerable children access their basic rights of a safe, loving and happy childhood. Rainbow Homes Program (RHP) is a PAN India caring movement run by Rainbow Foundation India (RFI), an Indian non-profit organization registered under Societies Registration Act since 1990, in collaboration with diverse partn

ers in many cities across India. These children were/are abandoned, have run away from violent and abusive situations, grown up in violence, are victims of s*xual, physical and mental abuse, and children of s*x workers and manual scavengers in rural and urban India. Rainbow Homes rescues these children from a life of uncertainty, helplessness, and impending criminalisation through its residential and community-based care. Rainbow Homes Program aims to enable these children to live a dignified & independent life with a job, housing and social network. The range of services encompasses unconditional love, protection, shelter security, food and health care, emotional well-being, education, life skills, recreation, and a nurturing environment for holistic development. Pursuing its mission with dedication, RHP has impacted 14,650 children living in street situations. Currently, it extends comprehensive care to 5,138 children across 47 Residential Homes, with an additional 1,517 benefiting from the Community-Based Care model, and 742 above 18 enrolled in the Future Program in 10 cities across 9 states in India.

𝗥𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗯𝗼𝘄 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 marked 𝗘𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗗𝗮𝘆 across its cities, engaging children in meaningful activities to build environmental awareness.
Through interactive sessions, creative poster-making, tree plantation, and cleanliness drives, children explored the importance of sustainability, waste management, and caring for our planet.🌱

Aligned with this year’s theme, “𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗣𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿, 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗲𝘁,” the celebrations reinforced a simple yet powerful message — collective action begins with each one of us.

A focused Roundtable consultation on “Access to Justice for Children in Street Situations” under the theme: "𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗧𝗘𝗖𝗧, 𝗡𝗢𝗧 𝗣𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗦𝗛" brought together key stakeholders—including members from DCPU, current CWC Chairperson & Member, former CWC Chairpersons, NGO representatives, child rights activists, and RHP national and city teams.
💬 The dialogue centered on key issues, rights, and actionable solutions for children in street situations.

Marking the 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗦𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀, a vibrant✊𝗦𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗥𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 was led by RHP teams, young adults, RHP Yuva Mitra members, and civil society supporters.

We hosted a powerful Round Table Consultation on “Access to Justice for Children in Street Situations” under the theme: ✊𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗧𝗘𝗖𝗧, 𝗡𝗢𝗧 𝗣𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗦𝗛✊

🤝 The consultation convened key stakeholders including RHP consortium partners, Balya Mitra Network, People’s Collective for Protection of Children (PCPC), Dept. of Juvenile Welfare, Correctional Services and Welfare of Street Children, District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), along with other like-minded individuals and organizations.

💬 The discussion focused on • Rights & protection of children in street situations • Access to child-friendly justice systems • Strengthening rehabilitation pathways
This was more than a discussion—it was a shared commitment to collective action and lasting change.
Together, we stand to ensure every child is protected, heard, and empowered.

We are pleased to share a meaningful community engagement at the 𝗦𝗮𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗶 𝗕𝗮𝗶 𝗣𝗵𝘂𝗹𝗲 𝗥𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗯𝗼𝘄 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲 & 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗲, Rayasandra, Bengaluru.

Honoured by the presence of members from the Rainbow Homes Program National Secretariat and City teams, alongside partners and community leaders—the event brought together 150+ children, community members, creating a vibrant platform for dialogue, inclusion, and shared learning.

At 𝗥𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗯𝗼𝘄 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺, we are delighted to see our children steadily shaping their futures and making us proud.
A young girl from our 𝗚𝗩𝗦 𝗥𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗯𝗼𝘄 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗻𝗮 has successfully completed her Sales & Marketing training under our Vocational & Skill Development Program and secured a job with V-MART Retail Ltd.
Despite early responsibilities after Class 12, she stayed committed to her dreams.

While in another inspiring milestone, a boy from our 𝗡𝗕𝗜 𝗥𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗯𝗼𝘄 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗿𝘂 has been selected for the B.Sc. (Hons.) in Information Science at Azim Premji University, with a full scholarship — a truly remarkable achievement.
These milestones are more than achievements—they are powerful reminders that with care, opportunity, and resilience, lives truly transform.🌈

𝗙𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗙𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘀𝘆 – 𝗔 𝗗𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝗙𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁✈️
A heartfelt initiative by MMRT 95 and MMLC 70 (Round Table Family Clubs) turned a dream into reality for children from the Rainbow Homes Program, Chennai.🌈

25 children, along with 4 team members, travelled from Chennai to Coimbatore—many experiencing their first flight, first airport visit, and the magic of seeing the world above the clouds.
What may seem like a simple journey became a powerful moment of joy, confidence, and possibility—reminding each child that their dreams are valid and within reach.

We sincerely thank MMRT 95 (Round Table) & MMLC 70 (Ladies Circle) for creating memories that will inspire these children to dream bigger and soar higher.

We recently concluded an engaging knowledge exchange workshop on the 𝑰𝒎𝒑𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝑪𝒉𝒊𝒍𝒅 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒕𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝑷𝒐𝒍𝒊𝒄𝒚, reaching over 60 passionate participants.

Grateful to Athulya from BALM and the team at Kudumbashree for this meaningful collaboration.

Inspired by 𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘀𝗮𝗯𝗵𝗮—a transformative initiative that provides a platform for children (ages 5–18) to explore everything from “Bala Parliaments” to the arts. By enhancing capabilities and nurturing leadership, Balasabha is a vital tool for empowerment.

The youth of Rainbow Homes Program, Bangalore successfully inaugurated their Yuva Shakti Forum, marking a significant step in strengthening youth leadership and collective action.
Members from the Rainbow Homes Program central and Bangalore city teams joined to congratulate and encourage the youth. We were also grateful for the valuable insights shared by our resource partners—Khalif (Samvada), Roopa (Quest Alliance), and Nada Maninalkur (Arivu Balaga) on youth participation, education, and collective strength.

The youth shared their commitment to reach and support more young people, ensuring that no youth is left behind.

On 10 March 2026, the Rainbow Homes Program hosted its 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 in Hyderabad, bringing together national and city teams along with consortium partners to celebrate children’s achievements and recognise the dedication of team members.

The event was graced by the esteemed presence of 𝗦𝗺𝘁. 𝗗. A proud moment of the celebration was the felicitation of young champions who excelled in the recent city-level inter-home sports meet. Children also captivated the audience with vibrant cultural performances, showcasing their creativity, confidence, and incredible talents.
With the enthusiastic participation of around 300 children and more than 100 team members, the event was a heartwarming celebration of children’s potential, collective effort, and the power of nurturing every child’s dreams.

In Hyderabad, the members of Rainbow Homes Program alongwith Rainbow youth came together for a special 𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻’𝘀 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 & 𝗥𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗯𝗼𝘄 𝗔𝗹𝘂𝗺𝗻𝗶 𝗥𝗲𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗻 under the spirit of 𝗬𝘂𝘃𝗮 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗸𝘁𝗶 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝘂𝗺🌈—a beautiful moment of reconnecting, remembering, and rejoicing.
Seeing them reconnect, share their journeys, and celebrate each other was a powerful reminder that 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗮 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗼𝗻𝗱.
The occasion was graced by dignitaries from the Telangana State Government Departments – Smt. P. Aruna Kumari-Secretary, Hyderabad Dist. Legal Service Authority, Ms. Chandana & Ms. Sarita from Telangana State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, Ms. Mary Augustine-Bharosa Centre, and other stakeholders, who witnessed the inspiring spirit of the Rainbow Alumni Reunion.
