Tradition Vs Cruelty 🐘🛕
Temple elephants are deeply tied to our cultural traditions, and many mahout families rely on them as their primary source of livelihood. But when majestic wildlife is commercialized into a source of income, a devastating cycle begins. The immense financial pressure forces owners to cut corners on care, leading to chronic physical agony, psychological trauma, and severe neglect for the elephants.
At the same time, this broken system places human lives at extreme risk: stressed, mistreated, and cornered wild animals can easily snap, leading to tragic attacks and fatalities among handlers and the public.
True devotion respects all of creation—tradition must evolve, because when animals are treated as commodities, everyone suffers. 🐘🌿
