Pragatinagar is located in Kuthbullapur mandal of Rangareddy district. The village has thousand houses and very well presented right from entrance of the village. The road leading into the villages is built on the tank bund greeting the visitors with cool and clean water in the tank on either side of the road . The village has cement roads kept spanking clean with beautifully laid green platforms
with well-laid lawns as road dividers and green trees on either side of the roads. Every household maintains greenery in the house and also takes care of at least two trees on the street in their vicinity. Cutting the trees is forbidden in the village and Panchayat permission is required to cut the trees in the village. Village Panchayat encourages growing avenue plantations and supplies plants to increase 500 plants every year. Village Panchayat maintains:
Protected water supply from Manjeera River brought by laying two and half kilometers length pipeline. Water storage tank of 14 lakh liters and six sumps to store water and supply to the household. Underground drainage system with efficient sewerage system for the village. Library and reading room
Parks for the recreation and playgrounds with well laid Cricket pitches, Basketball and tennis courts. The Panchayat arranges collection of garbage – Biodegradable and non-bio degradable separately. Panchayat enforced the ban of usage of plastic covers (over 20 microns) by convincing the shopkeepers. Panchayat is consciously enforcing the laws of environment protection. Panchayat itself builds the harvesting pits by collecting cost of it while giving permission for new construction in the village. The Village Panchayat has become a member of the Rangareddy District task force for environmental protection
Religious worship is also well organized. The Panchayat allocated specific places for construction of temple, Mosque and church in the village

Panchayat arranges village security by deploying Private Security
Water bills are very effectively collected and house tax is collected along with water bills. The penalty system introduced by the Panchayat proved very effective bringing water bills and house tax collection near to 100 percent. Pragatinagar Panchayat has appointed several development committees for steering the developmental activities in the village. The members of the development committees constitute any villager who volunteers to participate in the respective development activity. The core members of the Progressive peoples trust often lead the committees – Temple committee, School Committee, Consumer stores committee, development committee etc
