Today, we reflect on the idea of a republic — one built on equality, dignity, and the right to be heard.

The Constitution gives us that promise. The work lies in making it real.

At VOICE-4, this day is a reminder that democracy doesn’t end at voting booths or textbooks — it lives in everyday choices, conversations, and the courage to speak up.

A republic is strongest when girls grow up knowing their voices matter, and women are free to use them.

Not because she lacked talent.
Not because she didn’t try.

But because she is a girl.

This National Girl Child Day, we’re saying enough.
Girls don’t need permission to dream — they need space.
Safe spaces to speak, to choose, and to grow into who they imagine themselves to be.

2025 felt like a year of becoming. Not just a new name, but new ways of holding this work. Shared leadership. Two co-leads and a founder, learning how to lead together.

Crossing borders learning from Uganda’s systems, and then welcoming them into ours.

Together 4 Change event stays with us. Three of our girls on the panel. Clear, confident, owning the room. That moment did something to us. It still does.

And through it all, our adolescents. The heart of this organisation.
So many smiles. Even more laughter. That’s what keeps us here.

We carry all of this with us as we step into what’s next.
