✊ Labour Day Message | Montfort Social Institute

On this Labour Day, we raise our voices in solidarity with every worker—seen and unseen—who builds our homes, strengthens our communities, and powers our nation.

Across all sectors, especially among informal and domestic workers, labour continues to be undervalued and often ignored. This must change.

🔹 Our Stand
We stand firmly for dignity, equality, and justice for every worker. No worker should be invisible. No effort should go unrecognized.

🔹 Our Concerns
We raise our voice against systems and policies that weaken worker protections, exclude vulnerable groups, and deny rightful benefits.

🔹 Our Demands
• Legal recognition for all workers, including domestic workers
• Fair and enforceable minimum wages
• Access to social security and welfare benefits
• Safe, respectful, and dignified working conditions
• Inclusion in labour laws and welfare systems

🔹 Our Message
This is not about sympathy—it is about justice and rights.

🔹 Our Call
Stand united. Organize. Speak up. Claim what is rightfully yours.

Together, let us build a future where every worker lives with dignity, security, and respect. DomesticWorkers SocialJustice MSI StandTogether WorkersVoice May1st

🏘️ Telangana’s Big Push for Urban Housing 🏗️
The Telangana govt has issued clear directions to identify land & build G+3 apartment buildings for slum-dwellers under the Indiramma Housing Scheme within GHMC limits.

✅ Focus on in-situ development
✅ Priority to dispute-free/Bhoodaan land
✅ 16 slums targeted in 1st phase
✅ Aim: Keep families close to livelihood & schools

Revenue & Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, in a meeting held on 22 July 2025, directed district collectors to:

Map available land within and around Hyderabad bastis (slums),

Especially identify Bhoodaan lands (donated or dispute-free parcels),

And assess how many G + 3 blocks could be built in-situ by end of July 2025.

This move comes in response to unoccupied 2BHK flats on city outskirts—of the 42,000 built earlier, only about 13,000 remain occupied — leading the government to pivot to in-situ redevelopment in existing slums

A major step toward inclusive urban living!

Telangana Minister directs officials to identify lands for building homes for urban poor in Hyderabad and surrounding areas.

🌈 Path to Pride — A powerful day of awareness, acceptance, and empowerment for the LGBTIQ+ community!

Montfort Social Institute (MSI) was proud to play a lead role at the PRIDE MONTH celebrations held at Little Flower High School, Abids, Hyderabad, alongside our partners — HASSS, Q***r Bandhu, and Vasavi Kinnar Association Trust.

Through impactful sessions, heartfelt conversations, around a film on the acceptance and the after math of a family with a trans gender daughter, the event created a safe space for voices to be heard, stories to be shared, and solidarity to grow.

Together, MSI walks the path to pride — with empathy, courage, and unwavering support. 🏳️‍🌈✨
