Episode # 4 on our Krishi TV YouTube channel.

Under El Niño-influenced conditions, rainfall variability, delayed crop establishment, moisture stress and water scarcity can significantly affect farm-level decisions. In such situations, farmers need to look beyond “Which crop should I grow?” and ask: “When should I sow?” “Which alternative crop should I choose?” “How can I use the available water efficiently?” and “What should be my next plan if the crop fails?”

Episode 4 will focus on these questions and explore practical, field-oriented approaches for managing crop losses and making better decisions under uncertain weather conditions.

What we are discussing:
- Major crop risks associated with El Niño and rainfall variability
- Alternative crop choices when rainfall is delayed or deficient
- Whether to re-sow, continue with the existing crop, or shift to an alternative crop
- Crop planning based on available water resources
- Short-duration and alternative crop options under delayed rainfall conditions
- Seed availability and alternative seed planning
- Management measures to minimise losses in already-sown crops
Farmer experiences, field-level questions and live discussion
- Contingency planning for the next crop under uncertain weather conditions

🌾CSA Digital Farm School Series. Epi. 3

In Episode 2 of CSA's Digital Farm School, Dr. GV Ramanjaneyulu reviewed the ground situation across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh — rainfall deficit, germination failures, cotton under stress — and gave crop-wise advisories on what farmers need to do now.

Tomorrow, on 23rd July, Episode 3 continues the conversation — ground updates from the last 15 days, what the next 15 days may look like, and practical steps for farmers. We will also share our field experience on the AWD (Alternate Wetting and Drying) Paddy Model.

Free. Telugu. Open to all.

Every landscape has a story. Every farmer, a journey.

CSA’s Coffee Table Book (2026) brings together these voices from the field—stories of resilience, transitions, and hope as communities move towards agroecology.

From restoring soils to rebuilding livelihoods, these experiences remind us that sustainable agriculture is not a general idea, but a lived reality shaped by farmers every day.

CSA Foundation Day - 4th March

As CSA is in its 23rd year, we are proud to share a glimpse of our journey — what we do, how we work, and the values that guide us.

https://youtu.be/ESBPwDTBP4w

For over two decades, our mission has remained clear: to build ecological, economically viable, and farmer-centred food systems.
This milestone belongs to many.

✅To the farmers who placed their trust in us and walked the path of agroecology with conviction — thank you.
✅To our field staff, who continuously bring ground realities to the forefront with dedication and integrity — thank you.
✅To our colleagues, partner organisations, and friends who have travelled this journey alongside us — thank you for your solidarity and support.
✅And to all those who challenged us, placed hurdles in our path, and pushed us to learn the hard way — thank you for making us stronger and more resilient.
The journey continues.🌾

India’s Agricultural Crisis: Real Challenges & Pathways Forward

In this insightful episode of Vidvika Growth Talks, Iyengar explores the deep-rooted crisis in Indian agriculture with Dr GV Ramanjaneyulu, Executive Director from the Centre for Sustainable Agriculture (CSA).

The conversation unpacks farmer suicides, rising input costs, policy gaps, water-intensive cropping patterns, the challenges of transitioning to natural and organic farming, and the often invisible gender and labour impacts in agriculture. The episode reinforces a critical truth:

Agriculture is not just about productivity — it is about livelihoods, ecology, and dignity.

Scaling What Works – From Pilots to Nationwide Agroecology

At Mumbai Climate Week, hosted at the Jio World Convention Centre, Mumbai, from February 17-19, 2026, a critical question is being raised: "How do we move from successful pilots to nationwide agroecological transformation?"
We’re proud to share that our , Ramanjaneyulu GV is speaking on this important panel.

Agroecology is no longer a proof of concept. The real challenge now is scale.
Scaling requires policy alignment, institutional support, knowledge systems, and farmer-led approaches at the core.
As climate uncertainties grow, expanding what works is NOT 🚫 OPTIONAL BUT URGENT. ✅

Mumbai Climate Week (MCW), scheduled for February 17–19, 2026, marks India’s first platform dedicated to accelerating climate action, empowering Mumbai, India, and the Global South. This landmark initiative reimagines critical climate solutions as interconnected, scalable innovations rooted in the complex dynamics of the Global South region and its economies.
