U.S. Pharmacopeia - India

U.S. Pharmacopeia - India USP-India Private Limited, is U.S. Pharmacopeia's first collaborative testing laboratory facility and office outside of the United States.

USP-India's certified laboratories support USP's global efforts to set standards for the identity, strength, quality and purity of drugs, food ingredients, and dietary supplements. Establishing a presence in India has allowed USP to pursue collaborative research opportunities with India's pharmaceutical sector. USP signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Pharmacopeia Commission

(IPC) in 2006. This has helped unite USP's standard-setting experience and India's own scientific capabilities, resulting in the development of documentary standards and physical reference materials that better meet regional needs and benefit the global supply chain. USP-India encourages individuals and organizations to get involved in USP's standards-setting process through:

1. Regional meetings and events
2. Collaborative and third party testing opportunities
3. Joint training programs with Indian higher education organizations
4. USP's Donor Program for monographs and reference materials
5. Volunteer service on USP's Expert Committees and Expert Panels
6. USP's Verification Programs for pharmaceutical ingredients as well as dietary supplement ingredients and products.
