As per the instructions of the Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad City, a coordination meeting was convened by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, North Zone, on 26.11.2025 with representatives of jewellery shops, associations and owners/managers of high-value electronic goods establishments operating within North Zone limits. Over 50 representatives attended the meeting along with ACPs and SHOs of North Zone, Hyderabad City Police.

The objective of the meeting was to ensure that all high-value establishments particularly jewellery stores and electronic goods shops function strictly in accordance with statutory regulations, security norms, and provisions under the Telangana State Public Safety Act and the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS).

During the meeting owners/managers were sensitized on implementing robust security mechanisms in and around their establishments, to ensure that their establishments do not become targets or vulnerable points for criminal activities. Jewellery owners were specifically instructed not to purchase gold or ornaments from unknown, unverified, or suspicious sources, as offenders involved in thefts or chain-snatching on public roads often attempt to sell stolen jewellery to shops, doing so may indirectly encourage criminal activity. They were warned that strict legal action will be taken against any establishment found buying or dealing in stolen property, knowingly or unknowingly.

The following instructions were issued for strict compliance:
•Mandatory CCTV installation covering round-the-clock at entrances, counters, safes, storage areas, trial rooms (if any), cash counters, and periphery areas, ensuring adequate backup as prescribed under the Public Safety Act.
•Ensuring panic buttons, emergency alert systems and alarm mechanisms in shops for quick intimation to local police during emergencies.
•Proper maintenance of customer verification records, especially for high-value purchases, buy-back transactions, gold exchange activity, and bulk purchases of electronic items.
•Ensuring background verification of all employees, including sales staff, delivery personnel, security guards, and technicians, with proper maintenance of updated antecedent records..
•Implementation of strict cash-handling protocols, periodic verification of accounts, and awareness among staff about cyber-fraud risks related to QR code scams, UPI frauds, and fake payment screenshots.
•Ensuring proper lighting and deployment of trained security personnel at all entry/exit points, with strict supervision to ensure night-duty guards remain alert and active, as lapses such as guards sleeping during late hours pose serious security risks.
•Conduct a thorough structural and security audit of shared walls, adjacent building structures, ventilation gaps, AC openings, and similar access points to ensure there are no weak spots or unauthorized entry points that could be exploited by offenders.
•Strengthening physical security measures such as grill doors, double-locking systems, burglar alarms, reinforced locking mechanisms for showcases, shutters, vault rooms and regular inspection of security equipment.
•Prior intimation to local police before organizing special sales, festival discounts, promotional events, or collection launches that may attract large public gatherings.
•Complete prohibition on purchasing or accepting used items without proper verification, stores must ensure that no stolen property is bought, sold, or exchanged.
•Establishing quick communication channels between association representatives, shop management, and local police for timely sharing of information related to theft attempts, fraud incidents, or suspicious activities.

This is not against the Government of Telangana or the people of Telangana.
It is only against one group that is spreading misinformation and trying to divide us.

They say Marwaris & Gujaratis don’t pay taxes – but the truth is our shops, factories, and industries pay crores in GST, commercial tax, and property tax every year, which supports the development of Telangana.

They say our culture should go back – but Telangana’s identity is unity in diversity. For generations, our communities have lived here, worked here, celebrated festivals together, and contributed to the growth of this state.

They say we sell duplicate goods – then complaints should be made to the proper authorities. If one person is wrong, punish him. But blaming the entire community is unfair and dangerous.

👉 That’s why I request our big market associations – Begum Bazar, Rani Gunj, Koti, Abids, Monda Market, and others – to consider taking the lead.
If these main markets stand united, every small market and retail shop will follow.

We don’t need rallies, slogans, or politics. Even a peaceful stay-at-home bandh by Marwari & Gujarati businesses will send a strong message that hate campaigns cannot shake our unity.

Brothers & sisters, if not today then never… ekta ke saath ek kranthi jagni chahiye ✊
