When alumni come together with love for their alma mater, mountains move. 🏗️

SVUCE Alumni Association has successfully crowd-funded and completed Phase 1 of the Sri Padmavathi Women's Hostel at SVUCE, Tirupati — and formally handed it over to the SVU Registrar yesterday by SVUCE AA Tirupati Chapter.

Phase 1 alone cost nearly ₹7 crore, raised entirely by fellow SVUCEians across batches, cities, and continents. Our alumni chose not to wait for any administration — stepping forward with humility and love for the institution that shaped their lives.

This hostel addresses a critical shortage where women students were cramped 5–6 per room with no space to study. Phase 1 alone will house 100+ students. That's the power of our community.

We are grateful for the support of the Government of Andhra Pradesh, Hon. CM Nara Chandrababu Naidu (Nara Chandrababu Naidu) garu and Hon. Dy. CM Pawan Kalyan Konidala ( Kalyan Konidala) garu as we march toward Phase 2. 🙏

It all started in a small hotel. 🏨

A few passionate SVUCEians gathered at Hotel Harsha, close to Prof. Ali Baig sir's residency, with one simple dream — to stay connected. No grand venue, no big crowd. Just a shared love for our alma mater and the bonds forged in Tirupati.

From there, we moved to Begumpet, then Jubilee Hills — growing with every step.

And today? For over a decade, we've been walking through the doors of NIMSME Hyderabad every October 2nd, The Gandhi Jayanti — hundreds of fellow SVUCEians, one single day, one unforgettable reunion.

From a handful of familiar faces to a hall full of memories, milestones, and laughter — we have truly come a long way. 🙌

This is what community looks like. This is what SVUCE looks like.

In true SVUCE fashion, we took the "raw data" from our Alumni Meet on Oct 26, spent some time localizing the best vibes, and we’re finally ready to publish the highlights!

They say good things take time, and honestly, we’ve just been too busy reliving the laughter to hit 'upload.' Even though a few weeks have passed, the event is still so memorable that it feels like we were just walking the campus halls yesterday. From the old stories that never get old to the new successes we celebrated together, the energy was unmatched.

SVUCE Alumni Hyderabad Chapter Celebrates 9th Annual Lecture Series Success!

What an incredible evening we had the day before yesterday at The Plaza Hotel! The 9th Annual Lecture Series, held in honor of Late Professor K. Narayana Reddy, was a resounding success, bringing together our cherished SVUCE alumni for an evening of insightful learning and warm camaraderie.
A huge thank you to all who attended and made it such a memorable event! We witnessed fantastic interactions among alumni, strengthening the bonds of our vibrant community.

We were truly enlightened by Mr. Naved Khan, CEO of Cyberabad Security Council, who shared brilliant insights into CSC's day-to-day operations and their crucial role in addressing Hyderabad's urban challenges. For those curious, the Society For Cyberabad Security Council (SCSC) focuses on Cyber Security, Road Safety, Women's Safety, and Traffic Management, actively working to make Hyderabad a safer and more secure city.

The highlight continued with Er. Ankala Saibaba Garu, former Chief Engineer of Indian Railways, who captivated us with his firsthand account of overcoming monumental challenges while constructing the world's tallest bridge in Manipur. His dedication to nation-building through rail infrastructure was truly inspiring!
The evening concluded with engaging Q&A and a delightful dinner, leaving everyone invigorated and connected.

Dear Alumni Friends of SVUCE,

You know that the Late Professor K. Narayana Reddy of Mechanical Engineering was a wonderful and well-recognized person for most of the SVUCE Alumni. In his honour, the Hyderabad Chapter of SVUCE Alumni took the lead to start a lecture series, every year on the 2nd Saturday of July since 2017 in Hyderabad.

SVUCE Alumni Association, Hyderabad chapter will be organising the ninth series of Annual Lecture on 12th July 2025 (Second Saturday) at Hyderabad.

Hyderabad chapter extends a very warm Invitation to all SVUCE Alumni friends to make it convenient to attend the lecture in such an important programme, followed by dinner.

From Tirupati to Himalayas - Celebrating a Visionary Leader: Er. SAI BABA ANKALA - A True Inspiration from SVU!

We often speak of building a nation, but rarely do we meet individuals who have literally built the backbone of a nation's infrastructure. Today, we celebrate one such luminary: Er. SAI BABA ANKALA, ME, MBA, IRSE, PhD.

From the hallowed halls of SVU College of Engineering, Tirupati (B.Tech in Civil Engineering), Er. SAI BABA embarked on a journey that has redefined infrastructure in India and beyond. His academic brilliance, evident as a Topper in All India competitive exams like GATE, IES & IRSE, was just the beginning.
With over 36 years of unparalleled experience, Er. Ankala's professional achievements read like a testament to human ingenuity and dedication. He's not just an engineer; he's a nation-builder who has spearheaded projects like:

* The World's Tallest Rail Bridge in Northeast India (Manipur) – a monumental feat of engineering.
* 66km of challenging rail tunnels in NE India, including a 10.5km marvel.
* Crucial contributions to Metrorail projects across major Indian cities.
* Navigating the extreme challenges of building the 8.5km long tunnel under the Siachen glacier.
* International ventures spanning Malaysia-Singapore, Gabon, Afghanistan, Nigeria, and Ethiopia.
*Design of India's first cable stayed RoB in Bangalore in 1990s
*Design of India's first double decker integral flyover
*Construction of 1st road tunnel in Odisha

His visionary leadership has been recognized with numerous accolades, including the Prime Minister's Group Award for Integrated Green Logistic Parks, the Railway Minister Gold Medal, and the ICI Life-time achievement award.
Beyond his monumental professional contributions, Er. Ankala is a true educator and mentor. He has delivered over 670 lectures to students and young professionals, passionately inspiring civil engineering students and guiding the next generation. His commitment to social service through these lectures is truly commendable.

SVU College of Engineering, Tirupati, is immensely proud to call Er. SAI BABA ANKALA an alumnus. His life's work stands as a powerful testament to what passion, dedication, and expertise can achieve in the field of civil engineering. He truly embodies the spirit of contributing to the nation to a large extent, and his journey inspires every aspiring civil engineer to build with purpose and passion.
