Project Sujala—A Step Towards Water Security for Tribal Students

For several years, GAHS (Girls Ashram High School), Narsingpeta, Kunavaram Mandal, Chinturu Agency, ASR Dist has faced a severe water crisis. Over 350 tribal girl students residing in the school relied on a single borewell for drinking, cooking, and cleaning purposes. During monsoon seasons, frequent power cuts made the situation even more difficult, often leading to water scarcity for days.
Responding to the request from the School Management and the Tribal Welfare Officer, Chintur Agency, our NGO Samaritans for the Nation took the initiative to address this long-pending issue under Project Sujala.
With the generous support of V-Care Foundation, Hyderabad, we successfully implemented a sustainable water solution that includes:
1. Construction of two water storage tanks with cleaning areas to ensure a steady water supply.
2. Installation of one new borewell dedicated to drinking water purposes.
This project, completed with a budget of ₹2,00,000, now ensures that the students of GAHS Narsingpeta will have continuous access to clean and safe water, improving both their health and daily living conditions.
We recently inaugurated these facilities with great joy and gratitude.

Earlier, 435 students depended on a single borewell for all their daily needs, causing great inconvenience. With this intervention, the borewell and tanks are now fully functional, ensuring a regular water supply.

We thank our donor, V Care Foundation, for their generous support in making this possible. The students are now relieved and happy after this much-needed solution.

Interventions implemented in PHC Thulasipaka
1. Roof Covering & Ward Conversion
The central open area was covered with a durable roofing structure.
The space was converted into a functional ward, enabling protection from heavy rains and floods.

2. Beds & IV Stands
Five inpatient beds and five IV stands have been procured and installed, enhancing inpatient care and reducing overcrowding.

Project Vaidya Update
Implemented with CSR support from CubeWise Software Solutions Pvt. Ltd.

1. Background
The Primary Health Centre (PHC) at Tulasipaka serves over 20,000 people, primarily from remote tribal communities. Patient footfall averages 50 OP cases daily, with 10–15 IP cases, which rise to 20–30 IP cases during seasonal outbreaks and floods. Due to limited infrastructure and harsh climatic conditions, patients and their attendants faced severe hardships, particularly pregnant and postnatal mothers.

Based on the request received from the hospital management to strengthen PHC Thulasipaka, the project was implemented under Project Vaidya with CSR support from CubeWise Software Solutions Pvt. Ltd., thereby fulfilling the urgent needs highlighted by Dr. Uday Kumar Reddy, MBBS.”

2. Interventions Implemented
Roof Covering & Ward Conversion
The central open area was covered with a durable roofing structure.
The space was converted into a functional ward, enabling protection from heavy rains and floods.
Beds & IV Stands
Five inpatient beds and five IV stands have been procured and installed, enhancing inpatient care and reducing overcrowding.

3. Outcomes
Increased capacity to safely accommodate 40–50 inpatients and attendees during the peak rainy season.
Enhanced maternal and neonatal care facilities, reducing risks during childbirth.
Improved patient experience through better facilities and environmental conditions.
Strengthened healthcare delivery for poor tribal communities who depend on this PHC.

Project Vidya: Renovation of Government School Building - MPPS Kondaigudem

1. The Problem:
Children from a tribal school were facing severe challenges due to a dilapidated building. The roof was leaking, the walls were damaged, and the classrooms were unsafe during the rainy season. Despite repeated requests from parents and the school management to the authorities, the renovation did not happen.
This situation forced children to study in unhygienic and risky conditions, affecting their learning experience and health.

2. The Turning Point:
Understanding the urgency, we received an official request from the Mandal Education Officer (MEO) to assist in renovating the school building. Realizing the impact on the children’s future, we decided to step in and take immediate action.

3. Our Intervention:
With the generous support of CSR partner – Cubewise Software Solutions Private Limited, we initiated and completed the school renovation project. The work included:
✅ Repairing the leaking roof
✅ Plastering and strengthening the walls
✅ Applying fresh paint for a bright learning environment
✅ Improving the overall structure for safety and comfort

4. The Impact:
Today, the school has regained its shape and spirit!
🌟 Children are now studying in a safe, clean, and vibrant environment
🌟 Teachers are motivated, and attendance has improved
🌟 Parents expressed immense gratitude for bringing dignity back to the school

The renovated school was formally inaugurated in the presence of ITDA Project Officer and Sub-Collector IAS Apoorav Bharath, along with the Samaritans for the Nation team, school staff, villagers, and community representatives. Their participation highlighted the collective effort in creating a safe and joyful learning environment for the children.

Project Velugu
Lighting Up Narasingapadu Tribal Habitation

We are happy to share the successful implementation of Project Velugu in the remote tribal habitation of Narasingapadu, where we have installed 7 solar streetlights.

This village, home to 45+ families, has lived without proper electricity to date. Located in an extremely remote region, Narasingapadu faces daily challenges—especially at night—ranging from emergencies to animal threats. With no lighting, even accessing help during urgent situations was a struggle.
