We organised a one-Day Agricultural Field Exposure Visit today for around 30 farmers from Elishiruru, Shiruj, Hosur, Kanavi, and Beladadi villages to the farm of progressive farmer and 2025 District Best Farmer Award recipient Mr. Shaukat Ali Limbannavar of Naganur village, Navalgund taluka.

Mr. Limbannavar told us how he constructed 3 farm ponds on his 2 acre 18 guntas farm using his own funds. He had no bore well and no government subsidy. But by harvesting rainwater has successfully grown nearly 2,000 plants of various species, including several medicinal plants.

Also he practices fish farming in the farm ponds, for good income, and poultry farming successfully. He gives eggs free of cost to children of the government school in his village.

His model of natural farming, efficient water management, multi-cropping system, and integration of allied agricultural activities proved to be highly inspiring for the visiting farmers. The field visit provided valuable insights, practical learning, and a new experience for all participants.

We extends its heartfelt thanks to Mr. Limbannavar for his cooperation and to all the farmers who participated and contributed to the success of this program.

Today is World Menstrual Hygiene Day, and we have conducted an awareness session at Sangolli village Belagavi District under the SBI FoundationSAMMAAN Project.
The awareness program was led by senior staff members with the active participation of more than 30 women from the village. It focused on promoting awareness about menstrual hygiene and safe health practices among women and girls.
Participants were also educated about the proper segregation of wet waste, dry waste, and sanitary waste to encourage safe and sustainable disposal practices at the household level.
Awareness was further extended to SBI Prerana students, YTC students, and Computer students, helping them understand the importance of menstrual hygiene management, cleanliness, and environmental responsibility.
The program aimed to create awareness, break social stigma, and encourage healthy and hygienic practices within the community.
Observed annually since 2014 and coordinated by WASH United, with support from organizations including the UN Children's Fund (UNICEF), MH Day aims to raise awareness of the challenges many women and girls face in managing menstruation safely and with dignity. The annual campaign encourages action to address stigma, improve access to menstrual products and information, and strengthen water, sanitation and hygiene services.
Awareness programs were conducted also in SBI Foundation Gram Seva in Maski block Raichur district.
