আমরা দেখতে পাচ্ছি যে গো-রক্ষার পেছনে কতগুলো কারণ রয়েছে।
এরপর আমরা এই বিষয়গুলো আরও গভীরভাবে বোঝার চেষ্টা করতে পারি।
কেন ভগবান শ্রীকৃষ্ণ গরুকে এত বেশি ভালোবাসেন?
কেন ঘোড়া বা হাতি নয়?
বস্তুত, তিনি প্রতিটি জীবকেই ভালোবাসেন, কিন্তু তিনি গরুকে এক বিশেষ বৈশিষ্ট্যের সাথে সৃষ্টি করেছেন। তিনি মূলত 'সত্ত্বগুণ'-এর শক্তিতে গরুকে সৃষ্টি করেছেন। এর বাস্তব ফলাফল হলো—সত্ত্বগুণে (সদগুণে) অধিষ্ঠিত কোনো জীব অত্যন্ত উদার ও শান্ত প্রকৃতির হয় এবং তার সমস্ত কার্যকলাপ পরমেশ্বর ভগবান থেকে শুরু করে অন্যদের সুখ ও আনন্দ প্রদান করে। বাছুর ও গরু যখন সুখী থাকে, তখন তারা অত্যন্ত চঞ্চল ও কৌতুকপূর্ণ আচরণ করে; কৃষ্ণ তাদের সাথে প্রচুর খেলাধুলা করেন।
ষাঁড় ও গরুর উদারতার কোনো তুলনা হয় না। এমনকি তাদের মলও নানাবিধ ব্যবহারিক প্রয়োজনে অত্যন্ত উপকারী। অন্যান্য প্রাণী—এমনকি মানুষের—মলের সাথে এদের মলের অনেক পার্থক্য রয়েছে।
তবে গো-রক্ষার প্রধান কারণটি হলো—আমরা যখন গরু ও ষাঁড়কে রক্ষা করি, তখন আমরা প্রত্যক্ষভাবে ব্রাহ্মণদেরই রক্ষা করি; কারণ গরু বা ষাঁড়ের দেহে অবস্থানকারী জীবাত্মা পরবর্তী জন্মে 'সত্ত্বগুণ' বা দিব্য গুণাবলীসম্পন্ন মানবদেহ লাভ করে।
ভগবান জীবাত্মাদের পুনর্জন্মের ব্যবস্থা এমনভাবে করেছেন যে, তারা তাদের অর্জিত গুণের ভিত্তিতে পশুজীবন থেকে মানবজীবনে প্রবেশ করে। তাই বলা হয়েছে—"যেসব জীব সত্ত্বগুণের প্রভাবে মানবদেহ লাভ করে, তারা তাদের পূর্বজন্মে গরু হিসেবে জীবন অতিবাহিত করেছিল" (শ্রীমদ্ভাগবতম ৫.১৪.৩০, তাৎপর্য)।
যারা 'ধর্ম' রক্ষায় সহায়তা করতে চান, তাদের শেখানোর জন্য এটি অন্যতম গুরুত্বপূর্ণ একটি 'মন্ত্র' বা শিক্ষা; কারণ 'বৈষ্ণব ব্রাহ্মণ' ছাড়া 'বৈষ্ণব ধর্ম' টিকে থাকতে পারে না। এর কারণ হলো, শাস্ত্রবর্ণিত বিভিন্ন ধর্ম (যেমন—দৈবী বর্ণাশ্রম) পালন ও প্রচার করার মতো সঠিক বোঝাপড়া এবং পূর্ণ সামর্থ্য কেবল বৈষ্ণব ব্রাহ্মণদেরই থাকে।
আর 'সুখী গরু' না থাকলে বৈষ্ণব ব্রাহ্মণও তৈরি হবে না। আর গরু, বাছুর ও ষাঁড় যদি সুখী না থাকে, তবে পরমেশ্বর ভগবান শ্রীকৃষ্ণও সুখী হবেন না। আর তিনি যদি সুখী না হন, তবে মানুষকে নানাবিধ দুঃখ-কষ্ট ভোগ করতে হবে—ঠিক যেমনটা আমরা আজ সর্বত্র দেখতে পাচ্ছি। আধ্যাত্মিক সংস্কৃতির সমগ্র সামাজিক কাঠামোটিই গড়ে উঠেছে ব্যাপক গো-রক্ষার ওপর ভিত্তি করে, যেখানে ব্রাহ্মণ, ক্ষত্রিয়, বৈশ্য ও শূদ্র—সকল শ্রেণীর মানুষেরই অংশগ্রহণ থাকে। বৈশ্য ও শূদ্ররা সরাসরি গো-সেবা বা গবাদি পশুর পরিচর্যার কাজে নিয়োজিত থাকেন। অভিজ্ঞ ব্রাহ্মণরা তাঁদের প্রয়োজনীয় নির্দেশনা ও সহায়তা প্রদান করেন। অন্যদিকে, ক্ষত্রিয়রা চোর ও দুষ্কৃতিকারীদের হাত থেকে তাঁদের রক্ষা করেন এবং গো-সেবায় নিয়োজিত কর্মী ও গবাদি পশুর সুখ-স্বাচ্ছন্দ্য নিশ্চিত করার জন্য প্রয়োজনীয় ভূমি ও অন্যান্য উপকরণ সরবরাহ করেন।
এসব কারণেই শ্রীল প্রভুপাদ পবিত্র নাম-সংকীর্তনের পাশাপাশি গো-রক্ষার ওপর বিশেষ গুরুত্ব আরোপ করেছেন। এই উভয় কার্যক্রমই মানবসমাজে শান্তি ও সুখ বয়ে আনবে।
বিষয়টি বোঝা কঠিন নয়, তবে বর্তমান সময়ে তা বাস্তবায়ন করা সহজসাধ্য কাজ নয়।
'ধর্ম রক্ষা ট্রাস্ট'-এর মূল লক্ষ্যই হলো এই দুটি কার্যক্রমকে অগ্রাধিকার দিয়ে এগিয়ে নেওয়া।

আয়ুর্বেদ ও যোগ দর্শনে যেমন বলা হয়—শরীর পঞ্চভূতের সমন্বয়ে গঠিত, ঠিক তেমনি কৃষিক্ষেত্রেও মাটিই হলো মূল ভিত্তি।পৃথিবী তত্ত্ব দুর্বল হলে যেমন দেহ রুগ্ন, দুর্বল ও বিক্ষিপ্ত হয়ে পড়ে, তেমনি জমির মাটিও যদি প্রাণহীন, জৈবকার্বনহীন ও অণুজীবশূন্য হয়ে যায়, তাহলে ফসল কখনোই তার পূর্ণ শক্তি প্রকাশ করতে পারে না।মাটি ঠিক না করে শুধু সার বা ওষুধ দিয়ে চাষ করলে সেটা অসুস্থ শরীরে শুধু বাহ্যিক প্রসাধন দেওয়ার মতো। সাময়িক ফল মিললেও ভিতরের দুর্বলতা থেকেই যায়। তিলগাছ মাটিতে মিশিয়ে ( soil pH level, Soil organic carbon, Soil porocity, Soil density, Soil Electrical Conductivity বাড়িয়ে) চাষের নতুন প্রজেক্ট শুরু করতে যাচ্ছি।আমার বিশ্বাস, মাটির পৃথিবী তত্ত্ব ও জৈবশক্তি ফিরিয়ে আনতে পারলে ফসলও তার প্রকৃত গুণ, রং, ঘ্রাণ ও পুষ্টি ফিরে পাবে।প্রকৃতির নিয়ম একটাই—“মাটি সুস্থ হলে, গাছ সুস্থ হবে;গাছ সুস্থ হলে, মানুষও সুস্থ হবে।”
