The tribal villages of Tokarai and Sampangiputtu in BCTs operational area are shining examples of how collective action can drive meaningful change. A rough 2km pathway ridden with hard stones and loose soil connected Tokarai village to the main road. This led to great difficulty in access, a problem that the villagers decided to address with BCTs guidance. Instead of waiting for someone else to solve this issue, the villagers mobilized collective community action and repaired the road all by themselves.

At Sampangipattu village too, the community came together and restored a disconnected irrigation canal over a stretch of 700 metres. As a result, 46 households are now able to access water for their agricultural fields, improving irrigation support and livelihood opportunities.

To support these initiatives, Goonj, an NGO, provided family kits containing clothes, utensils, household materials, and play materials for children, further strengthening community well-being and participation. These kits were provided to 56 families in Tokarai and to 46 families in Sampangipattu village by BCT team members.

We are excited to share that 25 students from BCT Residential High School who appeared for their tenth board exams passed with flying colors. B Ramya topped with 88.33%, while R Poojitha and S Varshika stood second and third. A huge shoutout to the teachers and school staff who played a major role in the students' journey, and best wishes for our students for their future endeavors.

On 16th April, a Village Action Committee & Farmers Club meeting was held in Teruvupalli village. Topics discussed included savings and loans, canal repairs, admissions, entrepreneurship development etc.

On Friday, April 10, Mr. P Vijay, Program Manager, BCT participated at the South CSR Summit in Srikakulam as a Featured Speaker along with Mr. Meera. The platform enabled them to share the work of BCT, engage with participants & dignitaries Shri Rammohan Naidu (Hon'ble MP - Central Aviation Minister), local MLAs, & industry leaders from Tech Mahindra and Lupin. It was a great platform for NGOs and corporates to collaborate for social impact.

BCTs 180th Governing body meeting was held yesterday on April 9 at the Haripuram campus. BCT President Sri LV Subramanyam, Secretary Sri B Sri Ram Murty, Treasurer Ms. Krishna Jyoti and various other members came together for discussions on campus, while others joined online.

We are excited to share that 5 trainees from BSc -Biotechnology background of Dwarakanagar BCT TMF Smart Center attended an interview at Vetdiag Genomix Pvt. Ltd. for the Junior Lab Technician role. The candidates were exposed to advanced laboratory practices and also had the chance to interact with Dr Mohana Sheela, Founder Director of the company and her team. We are happy to share that 3 out of the 5 received placements. We wish these students the very best for their future.

Under the month-long Bhumi Suposhan Abhiyan being held from 19th March to 19th April 2026, 60 farmers from the four mandals of Payakaraopeta, Nakkapalli , Kotavuratla and Natavaram met at BCT KVK on 26th March. The objective was to educate farmers about the importance of soil health for sustainable crop production and long term productivity, encourage them to conduct regular soil testing, use soil health cards for scientific nutrient management and promote practices like natural farming, INM and conservation agriculture.
