Synergy Sansthan Vision “To create a healthy, educated, free from exploitation, equal harmony and peaceful society”

Synergy Sansthan(since 2006) is a youth-led organization, with on-ground experience working on diverse issues across diverse demographics of region, religion, caste, tribes, gender, and age groups. This rich experience has offered us significant learning opportunities as well as a deep understanding of various issues and their interconnections. These learnings, from across the spectrum of our work, are brought into each of our programs in order to make them more effective. We have also institutionalized feedback & review mechanisms in order to continually learn from our on-ground ex*****on and keep improving our interventions. Lastly, what makes our work most effective is the fact that we engage in need-based work specific to the target community, with a focus on nurturing local youth leadership for lasting social impact.

Creating Spaces for Girls to Learn & Share

As part of the Udaan Programme, Batch 01 Fellows are conducting sessions with adolescent girls in their sub-groups on the importance of education, awareness around child marriage, and women’s identity.

These sessions give Fellows an opportunity to practise their leadership and communication skills while engaging with girls in their communities. For the participating girls, the sessions offer a space to learn about social issues, share their thoughts, and discuss topics that affect their lives and communities.

Through these interactions, the Udaan program aims to encourage awareness, dialogue and confidence among girls, while supporting them in thinking about how they can contribute to positive change in their communities.

Every conversation is an opportunity to learn, reflect and understand one another a little better.

Grateful to Ashraya Hastha Trust for their continued support of the Udaan Programme.

21 new ‘Saathis’. One shared space. Three days of learning, connecting, and becoming part of Synergy. 🌱

Synergy Sansthan recently welcomed 21 new ‘Saathis’ joining different programmes and functional roles across the organisation.

The three days began with a warm welcome—a rose, a note and introductions—before the much-loved Jangeet set the energy for each day.

The sessions offered an introduction to Synergy’s programmes—Yuvalaya, Udaan, Saanjeevani and HumRahi—along with important organisational functions such as HR, finance and administration. Learning was interspersed with games, roleplays and activities, creating plenty of opportunities to interact, laugh, participate, and connect beyond our everyday roles.

A special session by Vishnu Jaiswal, Director – Operations, opened up conversations around Synergy’s values and culture, and how these shape an organisation as it grows and evolves.

Hosted at Samarthan – Centre for Development Support, the induction also gave colleagues travelling from different locations the opportunity to stay, spend time together, exchange stories and build new friendships. And sometimes, those informal conversations over a meal or between sessions are where the real connections begin.

What made this induction particularly meaningful was that it brought together people across roles and levels—not as separate groups, but as one team. Everyone shared the same space, participated in the same activities, and got to know the organisation together. That, in many ways, reflected something we value at Synergy: inclusion and equality are not just ideas; they are part of how we work and learn together.

A heartfelt thank you to all the Programme Managers and the Synergy team who made these three days happen so seamlessly and thoughtfully.

New people. New connections. One Synergy.

Here’s to the journeys ahead! 🌿

What is gender? Do we have an identity beyond it? How does gender shape our social constructs? And what is the connection between gender and injustice? 🌱

These questions were at the heart of a three-day Gender, Identity & Social Justice workshop at Synergy Sansthan, bringing together 27 Program Leads, Associates and Facilitators from different programmes. 🤝

Designed and facilitated by Priyanka and Deepshikha from Partnering4Change Consultants, the workshop created an engaging space to explore our understanding of s*x, gender and identity, while also looking at the evolving understanding of gender and the experiences of people whose identities exist beyond the conventional binary of male and female.

Through games, role plays, presentations, group activities and open discussions, participants were encouraged to reflect on their own perceptions and connect the learning with the realities they encounter in their work across rural and urban communities. 🗣️

One particularly engaging activity, “The Societal Roots of Patriarchy,” invited four groups to explore how rules, expectations and privileges can reinforce patriarchal structures across family, religion and caste, marriage, and media. 🔍

The workshop went beyond concepts and definitions. It created a space to question assumptions, listen to different perspectives, understand lived experiences and reflect on how social structures influence everyday interactions and opportunities. 🌍

The three days ended with curiosity, reflection and an openness to continue learning—understanding gender is not a one-time conversation; it's an ongoing process of questioning, listening and being more empathetic.

The world needs peace — now more than ever.

At a time when wars, violence and divisions continue to affect communities across the world, the call for peace cannot remain only at the global level. It must begin where we live, learn, and work — with dialogue, empathy, and action.

As the United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres reminds us:

“On this International Day of Peace, let us all be inspired by the courage of those who champion peace in neighborhoods, classrooms, and communities. And let’s call on world leaders to invest in a peaceful future for all people.”

At Synergy Sansthan, we believe development begins with young leaders — giving them the space, confidence and platforms to participate, speak up and lead social change.

Because when young people work for equality, inclusion, and awareness, they are also helping build the foundations of peace.

The world needs more dialogue, more young voices, and more peace — not war.

🌍 Invest in Peace — For Everyone, Everywhere, Every Day.

Who am I?

Discovering adolescent and youth leadership begins with simply pausing and asking ourselves: “Who am I?”

As part of youth development at Synergy Sansthan’s Yuvalaya centres in Harda, the “Who Am I?” session was recently organised across five centres, bringing together **100+ adolescents and young people** from diverse communities.

The session created a safe and open space for young people to look within and explore their own journeys — their childhood experiences, the moments that shaped them, the choices they make, their challenges, aspirations and dreams.

But perhaps the most powerful questions were: Who are the people we trust? Who stands with us? And who can support us in becoming the person we aspire to be?

Through conversations, reflections and shared experiences, young people opened up about their struggles and aspirations. Stories that seemed personal often turned out to be shared experiences — creating moments of **empathy, connection and belonging**.

It was more than a session. It was an opportunity for young people to **understand themselves, connect with others and take the first steps towards leading their own journeys.**

The sessions were facilitated by the **Yuvalaya centre in-charges and facilitators**, who helped create an open space where every young person could reflect, speak and be heard.

Because youth leadership begins with self-discovery. When young people discover themselves, they begin to discover their capacity to shape their communities and their future.

Yuvalaya Khandwa completes one year!

One year of young people coming together, sharing ideas, discovering their talents, and finding a space to express themselves.

Recently, Yuvalaya Khandwa celebrated its first anniversary with an evening filled with youth energy, creativity and celebration, bringing together around 100 participants, including 45 Yuvalaya members.

The highlight of the evening was an Open Mic, where Yuvalaya members and city poets took the stage to share their poetry, shayari and creative performances. 🎤✨ The youth energy and participation made the evening truly special.

The occasion also marked a proud moment as Reema Kajle, a Yuvalaya member, was felicitated on her selection in the Madhya Pradesh Police. 👮‍♀️🌟

One year completed—and the journey of creating spaces for young people to express, connect and grow together continues!

Synergy Sansthan runs 12 Yuvalaya Youth Resource Centres across eight districts of Madhya Pradesh.

'A teacher’s image in our society is often that of a middle-aged or mature person—serious, disciplined and authoritative.

But at Synergy Sansthan, we’re breaking that stereotype.

Our facilitators bring a different energy to learning—young, vibrant, creative and full of life. They are teachers, but become much more: friends, mentors, guides, and sometimes a shoulder to lean on.

Our programs are designed for young people whose potential is often constrained by rote-based learning and social barriers—including gender inequality, limited exposure and the challenges of growing up in rural and tribal communities.

We take learning beyond four walls—making it experiential, engaging and empowering, while building confidence, life skills, awareness of rights and the courage to become active citizens.

Because sometimes, young people need more than a lecture—they need someone who listens, believes in them and walks alongside them.

This Teachers’ Day, we celebrate and thank our facilitators for bringing their creativity, warmth and youthful energy to young people every day.

Here are a few glimpses of the warmth, joy and energy they bring to learning.

Happy Teachers’ Day! 🌱✨
