Today, the All Dimasa Students Union takes a moment to commemorate the 35 lives lost in the Chekarcham, Metnathal,Loddi, Kalinagar, and Diphucherra incidents on April 1, 2003. We pay tribute to their memory and offer our sincerest condolences to the families who continue to endure the impact of this tragedy. Their absence is deeply felt within our community. Furthermore, we urge all segments of society to reflect on the significance of peace, unity, and reconciliation. It is through healing past wounds and striving towards a common future that we can truly pay homage to those lost. Let us pledge to forge a path forward characterized by harmony and collective resilience, rather than division. In remembrance, we choose hope. In grief, we stand united.

Meetings took place with Dr. Aditya Langthasa, Senior Consultant and Head of the Department of Medicine at Haji Abdul Majid Memorial Hospital and Research Centre, and Dr. Khasrul Islam, Director of Ajmal Foundation, at their offices, with the goal of starting a new chapter led by Mairing Johori , President of the Union Central Committee for Brilliant but Economically Backward Students of the Dimasa Community.

Under the initiative of Hon'ble President Sjt Mairing Johori , the Union is gearing up for the reconstitution of the ADSU Hojai District Committee and a concurrent one-day convention. To this effect, a Reception Committee was formed on February 22, 2026, to oversee the organization of the event, which is set to take place on March 29, 2026, in Hojai District.

The 35th Foundation Day of the All Dimasa Students’ Union was solemnly celebrated on 8 January 2026 at the Auditorium Hall of Haflong Government College.
The programme was graced by Smt. Nandita Gorlosa, Hon’ble Cabinet Minister for Sports and Youth Welfare, Government of Assam, as the Chief Guest. The event was further honoured by Dr. Samujjal Bhattacharya, Chief Adviser of AASU, as the Special Guest.
The Distinguished Guests present on the occasion were:
i. Sjt. Donphainon Thaosen, Executive Member, Dima Hasao Autonomous Council (DHAC), Haflong
ii. Sjt. Arup Gorlosa, President, JNH, Haflong
The Guests of Honour included:
i. Sjt. Dhiraj Hagjer, Founder Vice President, ADSU, Cachar
ii. Dr. Sarbojit Thaosen, M.Sc., M.Phil., Ph.D., Principal (i/c), Haflong Government College, Haflong
iii. Sjt. Amit Nunisa, Vice President, Dimasa Students’ Union (DSU), Haflong
iv. Sjt. Samson Teron, President, Karbi Students’ Association (KSA), Karbi Anglong
v. Sjt. Sanahal Singha, President, AAMSU, Silchar
vi. Sjt. David Changsan, President, Kuki Students’ Organisation
The programme was also attended by the Assistant Secretary and Education Secretary of AASU. The Union expresses its sincere gratitude to the former leaders of ADSU, the Khunangs of the Haflong area, and the active volunteers of the All Dimasa Students’ Union for their presence and support, which greatly enriched the celebration.
The Foundation Day was observed under the theme:
“Commemorating our past, celebrating our present, and strengthening our shared commitment to the Union’s goals.”
On the same occasion, a farewell programme was organised in honour of Sjt. Nobin Johari, former President, ADSU Central Committee; Sjt. Uttam Langthasa, President, ADSU Dima Hasao District Committee; and Sjt. Anuj Kemprai, Vice President, acknowledging their valuable contributions and dedicated service to the Union.

The All Dimasa Students Union, under the dynamic leadership of Mairing Johori, President of the ADSU "All Dimasa Students' Union", successfully organised a significant meeting on 15 November 2025 at Joypur, Silchar.

This crucial gathering brought together members of the All Dimasa Students Union and Village Headmen of the Dimasa community in Cachar District. The primary agenda was the and modification of the Union's functioning in the area, ensuring its continued relevance and effectiveness in serving the community.

A key highlight of the meeting was the swearing-in ceremony for the newly formed Cachar District Committee and the Zonal Committee. This marked a new chapter in the dedication and commitment of these selected representatives.

Among the various resolutions passed, a major decision was made to organise the festival in Cachar in . This grand celebration will be for the Valley , fostering unity and preserving cultural heritage.
We look forward to a strengthened and more impactful Union, united in celebrating our rich traditions!
