On the second day of the Convention on Dimasa National Issues, held on 31 July 2026, the morning session was chaired by Mairing Johori, President of ADSU. The session tackled two pressing themes concerning the community's future. The first topic, "The Dimaraji State under Articles 2 & 3: Constitutional Provisions and a Strategic Framework for Future Action," was addressed by Sutil Phonglo as the Speaker, with Samoni Kemprai serving as the Discussant. Following this, deliberations shifted to the vital cultural and linguistic dimensions encapsulated in the topic "Dimasa Language in Transition: Current Landscape, Community Concerns and Strategic Interventions," which was presented by Dr Monali Longmailai as the Speaker, with Rakhee Naiding acting as the Discussant.

The Second Session of Day 1 of the Convention on Dimasa National Issues, held on 30 July 2026 at the J. B. Hagjer Club Hall, Maibang, was chaired by David Thaosen, Adviser of ADSU. The session began with the topic "The 2023 Memorandum of Settlement: An Assessment of Its Implementation and Implications," in which Muteshwar Kemprai, the signatory of the MOS 2023, served as the speaker, while Smt. Nandita Gorlosa, former Cabinet Minister of the Government of Assam, acted as the discussant. This was followed by the second topic, "National Census 2026-27 and Constituency (MLA & MP) Delimitation in Dimasa Areas: Issues, Challenges and Recommendations," with Uttam Bathari, Associate Professor, Department of History, Gauhati University, serving as the speaker and Mohendra Kemprai, former President of ADSU Dima Hasao District Committee and former EM of DHAC, as the discussant. The third topic, "Article 244(A): Constitutional Provisions, Political Demands and Implementation Challenges," was presented by Samarjit Haflongbar, former CEM of DHAC and MLA from Haflong (ST), with Surja Thaosen, senior journalist, serving as the discussant. After the fruitful deliberations on these important issues, the convention was adjourned for the day.

The first day of the Convention on Dimasa National Issues, held on 30 July 2026 at the J.B. Hagjer Club, Maibang, began with the hoisting of the Union Flag, followed by a solemn floral tribute to the Martyrs of the Dimasa community, paying homage to their sacrifice for the cause of the people. The proceedings then moved on to the felicitation of distinguished guests, after which the President of ADSU delivered his address, setting the tone for the deliberations ahead. The convention was formally inaugurated by Ratan Jarambusa Ratan Jarambusa accompanied by & , who delivered the inaugural speech on behalf of the Hon'ble CEM of DHAC, Sjt. Debolal Gorlosa, who could not be present in person as he was engaged in another official programme in Guwahati. The First Session (Day-1) deliberated on two significant topics: "The 1995 Memorandum of Understanding: An Assessment of Its Implementation and Resultant Impact," presented by Joython Longmailai, a signatory of the MOU, with Surja Thaosen serving as the discussant; and "The 2012 Memorandum of Settlement: An Assessment of Its Implementation and Implications," wherein Dilip Nunisa and Niranjan Hojai, the signatories of the very MOS, served as the speakers, with Nandita Gorlosa, former Cabinet Minister of the Government of Assam, serving as the discussant.

News for the People of Maibang Sub-Division!
The ultimatum served by the Union under the Presidentship of Mairing Johori to the DRM of NF Railway through the Superintendent of NF Railway Maibang Station on 4th June 2026 has received a positive response!
The authorities have requested 3-4 months' time and have urged the ADSU "All Dimasa Students' Union" not to resort to any protest, as the administration is not denying the demand for the much-needed Foot Over Bridge (FOB). Instead, they are actively pursuing the proposal.
This is a significant step forward. This could be possible because of the support shown by the public in needy. For now the Union has decided to temporarily suspend its protest till October 2026 that was supposed to be done after 30 june 2026.
