CONDOLENCE MESSAGE:

With profound grief and sorrow, the Dimasa Youth Forum (DYF) mourns the untimely demise of our beloved Zubeen Garg Da, the legendary singer, musician, and filmmaker who enchanted millions with more than 36,000 songs across diverse languages. He also lent his soulful voice to many iconic Dimasa songs such as Dini Ning Khajala, Dophahi Nangpahi, Dongmani Kha many others.

The Dimasa community will remain forever grateful for his invaluable contributions, especially for bringing life to our music and culture through his timeless songs. His legacy will continue to live on through his creations and in the countless hearts he touched.

We, the Dimasa Youth Forum, extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and millions of fans during this difficult time.
May his noble soul rest in eternal peace.

Like every year, we celebrated the 79th Independence Day 2025 at Choto Wapu Orphanage, Dima Hasao by sharing some clothes, water bottles, pencils, sweets, and more with the wonderful children and dedicated staff. Their smiles were the most precious gift of all. We’ll be back soon!

Today, the people of Haflong came together with heavy hearts and burning candles to honour the memory of our dear sister, Rosmita Hojai.

Your life was precious, and your loss is a wound that has shaken our entire community. But we will not remain silent. We will continue to stand, speak, and fight — until Justice for Rosmita is delivered.

May your soul find eternal peace.
And may your memory be a light that guides us forward.

It is disheartening and sad to hear the tragic news of the death of Rosmita Hojai, a young lady of Dima Hasao district, Assam who went to Delhi to appear for an RRB Exam and was reportedly missing since 5th June, 2025. Her dead body was found a few days later in Pauri Garhwal district, Uttarakhand.
We appeal the concerned authority to thoroughly investigate the matter in a transparent manner and ensure that the culprit be brought to book and demand for punishment at the earliest.
We demand justice and answers for the family.
We express solidarity and sympathy with her family during this tough time.

The Dimasa Youth Forum congratulates the living Dimasa Legend, Shri. Joynacharan Bathari who has been conferred with the prestigious Padma Shri Award 2025 under the category Art (Vocals - Folk - Dimasa), the fourth highest Civilian Award of the Republic of India.
We are proud to honour and celebrate his extraordinary achievement.
