খেলাধুলার মাধ্যমে করে ওঠে সুস্থ সমাজ, এই লক্ষ্যেই অশোকনগর হাবরা প্লেয়ারস ওয়েলফেয়ার অ্যাসোসিয়েশন গুটি গুটি পায়ে এগিয়ে চলেছে।

"অশোকনগর হাবরা প্লেয়ার্স ওয়েলফেয়ার অ্যাসোসিয়েশন" এর উদ্যোগে গত ৩১ শে মে এবং ১লা জুন দুদিন ব্যাপী স্বর্গীয় শিবেন্দু ঘোষ এবং স্বর্গীয় সৌম্যজিৎ দাস -এর স্মৃতির উদ্দেশ্যে
সারা বাংলা আট দলীয় এক নকআউট ভেকারেন্স ফুটবল প্রতিযোগিতার আয়োজন করা হয়েছিল অশোকনগর ৩ নম্বর স্টেডিয়ামে। এই প্রতিযোগিতায় হুগলির বৈদ্যবাটি ৪০+ ফাইনাল খেলায় রিসড়া সকার ডেটারেন্স ক্লাবকে ট্রাইবেকারে হারিয়ে জয় লাভ করে।

অশোকনগর হাবরা প্লেয়ারস ওয়েলফেয়ার অ্যাসোসিয়েশন এই প্রতিযোগিতা কে সামনে রেখে অশোকনগর এবং হাবড়ার অতীতের নামিদামি প্রাক্তন প্লেয়ারদের সম্মান এবং শ্রদ্ধা জ্ঞাপন করার একটি কর্মসূচি গ্রহণ করেছিল। ৪০ বছরের ঊর্ধ্বে এই প্রতিযোগিতাকে ঘিরে দর্শকদের উপস্থিতি ছিল চোখে পড়ার মতো।
