On the occasion of World Environment Day 2026, we successfully carried out a tree plantation and cleanliness drive in and around the sacred Lu Kar Nay area.
As a tribute to the loving memory of Late Padam Bdr. Gurung and Late Sabitri Gurung, we planted rhododendron saplings at the holy Lu Kar Nay. Additional rhododendron saplings were also planted along the roadside to promote environmental conservation and beautify the area.
We also conducted a cleanliness drive to help keep our sacred surroundings clean and free from litter. This meaningful program was made possible with the active participation and support of the staff and students of Labdang Secondary School.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Mr. Tika Raj Gurung, EDC President, for his valuable support, guidance, and encouragement in making this initiative a success.
Together, let us continue to protect nature, preserve our sacred places, and create a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future for generations to come.
🙏 Thank you to all the staff, students, volunteers, and supporters who contributed to this noble cause.

World Environment Day – 5th June 2026 🌿
‎On the occasion of World Environment Day, we will be organizing a Cleanliness Drive and Rhododendron Plantation Program.
‎This initiative is not simply a one-day activity. It is a step towards creating greater environmental awareness, responsibility, and a stronger respect for nature and the environment that surrounds us all.
‎Our vision is to encourage people to keep our surroundings clean, natural, and free from pollution. A clean environment should not depend only on roadside dustbins, but also on human awareness, discipline, and personal responsibility. When we choose not to leave waste behind and take responsibility for our own actions, we help protect the natural beauty and health of our environment.
‎Alongside the cleanliness drive, we will carry out Rhododendron plantation.
‎Rhododendron is not chosen by chance — it is the State Tree of Sikkim and holds deep ecological and natural significance. By planting rhododendrons today, we are investing in the beauty and wellbeing of the future.
‎As these plants grow and bloom in the coming years, they will gradually transform the landscape into vibrant and beautiful natural scenery, bringing color, life, and beauty to our surroundings. What we plant today can become a source of beauty, pride, and inspiration for future generations.
‎This initiative is also a humble message to everyone: protecting the environment is not only the responsibility of a few people or organizations — it is a shared responsibility of all of us.

‎We warmly encourage everyone to join this effort, spread awareness, care for our surroundings, and become part of building a cleaner, greener, and more beautiful future.

🌱 The beauty of tomorrow begins with the responsibility we take today.

A Humble Appeal from the Lhari Nying P**k Conservation Committee

For Cleanliness, Respect, and Responsibility on the Holy Lhari Nying P**k Trail

On the sacred occasion of Saga Dawa, we, the Lhari Nying P**k Conservation Committee, with devotion, respect, and a sincere sense of responsibility towards our sacred land, began a three-day cleanliness program on 29th, 30th, and 31st May 2026 along the holy Lhari Nying P**k trail. During this initiative, plastic waste scattered throughout the trail and inside the resting sheds/bungalows was carefully cleaned as part of our effort to preserve the purity, beauty, and sanctity of this sacred place.
Our vision is to make Lhari Nying P**k a plastic-free, clean, and naturally preserved pilgrimage trail. We sincerely request all pilgrims and visitors to kindly carry back their own plastic and waste materials that they bring with them. Please do not throw or leave plastic items, bottles, cans, food packaging, or unwanted belongings anywhere along the trail, inside the resting sheds, or within this holy land. Let us all take responsibility for keeping this sacred place clean and pure for everyone.
As we wish to keep this sacred place natural in its original form, we also request everyone to respect the simplicity of the site. Lhari Nying P**k is a holy place whose beauty lies in its natural environment and spiritual atmosphere, not in excessive construction or unnecessary alteration. Let us protect and preserve its authentic character for future generations.
We also humbly appeal to all pilgrims to maintain cleanliness and discipline in the resting sheds and bungalows. After using utensils, kindly wash them properly, arrange them neatly, and keep the area clean and tidy. Maintaining cleanliness, order, and responsibility reflects discipline, respect, and the values we should uphold during a spiritual journey.
We would also like to make a sincere request regarding prayer flags. Please avoid hanging excessive prayer flags on trees. While offered with devotion, excessive tying of prayer flags can harm living trees and affect the natural environment. As seen along the trail, some trees have been negatively affected. Let us practice devotion in a way that also protects and respects nature.
Furthermore, we humbly request pilgrims not to leave holy texts (pecha) inside the cave or around the sacred site. Sacred texts deserve proper care and respectful preservation. Many texts left behind are now in poor condition, affected by moisture and fungus. If you have completed your reading or offering, please respectfully pass the holy texts to another practitioner or ensure they are kept in a proper and suitable place.
We would also like to request devotees not to offer khadas directly on the statue of Guru Rinpoche. Kindly place khadas in the designated side offering area arranged for this purpose. Offering with mindfulness and proper arrangement helps maintain the dignity, beauty, and cleanliness of the sacred space.
Likewise, when making offerings of coins or currency notes, we humbly request everyone to place them respectfully and properly in the designated place. Please avoid throwing money randomly or leaving it scattered around the sacred area, as this does not reflect the respectful spirit of offering and affects the beauty, cleanliness, and orderliness of the holy site.
This initiative also marked the beginning of our journey and T-shirt campaign towards protecting and preserving the sacred Lhari Nying P**k trail. We are grateful for the support, cooperation, and helping hands of everyone involved. We would be deeply encouraged and happy if more kind-hearted and responsible people join and support this meaningful effort in the future.
Together, let us walk with devotion, respect nature, maintain cleanliness, and preserve the sacred beauty, natural environment, and spiritual dignity of Lhari Nying P**k for future generations.

Please do share this message and help us spread awareness. Together, with collective effort and good intention, we can protect, preserve, and maintain the sacred Lhari Nying P**k trail for present and future generations. You can also view the before-and-after photographs from our cleanliness program. 🙏

Good morning to all, and warm greetings. May this day bring peace, positivity, and good thoughts to everyone.
‎For the benefit of all beings, with a sincere and pure intention, we extend our heartfelt welcome to everyone.
‎
‎With great joy and a sense of responsibility, we are truly happy to announce the formation of the Lhari Nying P**k Conservation Committee, Labdang.
‎This marks the beginning of a collective effort dedicated to protecting and preserving the sacredness and natural purity of Lhari Nying P**k for present and future generations.
‎
‎Sikkim has four sacred caves. These caves are located at four cardinal directions of Tashiding, namely- Sharchog Bay p**k in the East, Lho khando Sang p**k in the South, Nub Dechen p**k in the West and Jhang Lhari Nying p**k in the North. Tashiding according to Holy text, is the Navel Point of "Bayul Demajong"(Sikkim).
‎
‎Two Cave are Located in South District of Sikkim Sharchok Bay p**k and Lho Khando Sang p**k and Two Caves in West District of Sikkim Nub Dech p**kand Jhang Lhari Nying p**k.
‎
‎Guru Padma Sambhava sanctified these Caves as the abodes of various Protective Divinities of the Esotertic Buddhism. Today these caves have become the most important pilgrim destination of the buddhist followers all over the Worlds. Lhari Nying P**k is situated to the north of Tashiding hill and almost two days journey from labdang Village, West Sikkim. The word LHARI NYING P**K translates to " Heart Cave of Gods Hill". It is believed that the northern cave is the holiest in the series. A sacred place of deep spiritual significance, surrounded by pure and untouched natural beauty. Blessed with peaceful forests, flowing rivers, fresh mountain air, and serene silence, it is a place where one can truly feel a deep connection with nature and inner peace.
‎As per Dejong Ney-yig text, Padma Sambhava had hidden a great deal of sacred treasures in Lhari Nyingphug Cave for the prosperity of this hidden valley.. Such a legacy makes this place not only naturally beautiful, but deeply sacred.
‎For generations, this place has been respected as a site of devotion, meditation, and spiritual presence — where every step carries peace and every element of nature holds meaning.
‎
‎From the heartfelt intention and vision of Labdang Tulku, along with the support of well-wishers and like-minded individuals, the Lhari Nying P**k Conservation Committee, Labdang was formed.
‎This initiative is dedicated to a simple yet meaningful purpose —
‎to keep Lhari Nying P**k clean, plastic-free, and free from all kinds of waste and unnecessary disturbances.
‎Our focus is: • Maintaining cleanliness throughout the trail and surrounding areas
‎• Keeping the environment completely plastic-free
‎• Protecting and preserving the natural beauty as it truly was
‎• Encouraging awareness, responsibility, and respect among visitors
‎We believe that true preservation is not about changing nature, but about protecting it in its pure form.
‎While our work begins with Lhari Nying P**k, in the future, this effort will continue to grow and extend to other places that need care, respect, and protection.
‎This is a collective effort for the benefit of all beings — guided by compassion, sincerity, and responsibility.
‎We warmly welcome the support and participation of everyone who shares this vision.
