Mahadev Samarpan Seva Sansthan “Mahadev Samarpan Seva Sansthan works for the welfare and upliftment of various sections of society.

The main objective of the organization is to promote gender equality, welcome the birth of girls with joy, and raise awareness about menstruation. “ संस्था शिक्षा के स्तर में सुधार लाने का कार्य करती है , पर इससे ज्यादा जरूरी होता है , शिक्षा को समाज से जोड़ना , जो कि वर्तमान में बहुत काम ही है , शिक्षा ग्रहण तो की जाती है , पर उसको वास्तविकता से जोड़ना लोग भूल जाते हैं , वर्तमान में लोग किताबी त

ोता तो बन रहे हैं , पर उसके अर्थ को नहीं समझ रहे हैं , कोशिश हम सभी की यही रहती है कि शिक्षा को व्यापार की बजाय , ज्ञान अर्जन का स्त्रोत समझा जाय।
इसके साथ साथ उन लोगों के टेलेंट को उभारने का प्रयास करती है , जिन्हे खुद नहीं पता रहता कि वो इस खूबसूरत जहां में अपने नाम का झण्डा फहरा सकते हैं।
इसके अलावा स्वास्थ्य सेवाएं , रक्त दान , बेटियां हमारी जान जैसे कार्य भी सभी जन सहयोग से संभव हो जाते हैं।

आधुनिकता और माहवारी

संस्थान के द्वारा बीते दिनो माहवारी जागरूकता के लिए , कुछ ईंट भट्टों पर कार्य करने वाले लोग , कुछ घुमंतू प्रजाति के लोगों के बीच जाना हुआ , उनमे से किसी ने कहा फ़्री का पैड है ले लो , तो वहीं ज़्यादातर घुमंतू समुदाय के लोगों ने पैड को लेने से ही इनकार कर दिया , पैड को अछूत बताते हुए कहा इसे फेंक दो , हम लोग इसका उपयोग नही करते , साथ ही एक जगह समझाईश देने पर जब महिला को पैड दिया गया तो पति पत्नी में विवाद की स्थिति बनने लगी , और पैड का पैकेट फेंक दिया ।
ऐसे में कैसे कह सकते हैं कि समय बहुत आधुनिक है , आधुनिकता सिर्फ़ मोबाइल और रंगत में है पर विचारों में नही , ज़मीनी स्तर पर लोग आज भी इसे अछूत मानते हैं ।

Modernity and Menstruation

In recent days, our organization visited brick kiln workers and members of nomadic communities to spread awareness about menstruation. During the campaign, some people casually said, “The pads are free, just take them,” while many from the nomadic communities refused even to accept sanitary pads. They called them “untouchable” and said, “Throw them away, we do not use such things.”

At one place, when a woman was given a sanitary pad after counseling and awareness, it even led to an argument between husband and wife, and the packet of pads was thrown away.

In such circumstances, how can we truly say that society has become modern? Modernity today seems limited only to mobile phones and outward appearance, not to thoughts and mindset. At the grassroots level, even today, many people still consider menstruation and sanitary products as untouchable or taboo.

Today’s menstrual awareness drive at Dr. S.S. Rathore Memorial School, Tekanpur (Gwalior) was more than just a session. It was yet another brilliant step towards breaking silence and building confidence.

With over 100 young girls, and even some boys joining in, we spoke openly about menstruation explaining what it is, why it happens, and most importantly, why it should never be treated as a taboo. From understanding hygiene practices to encouraging the use of sanitary pads over cloth, the session aimed to replace hesitation with awareness and myths with facts.

What truly stood out for us was the curiosity, courage, and willingness of these young minds to learn. When boys participate in such conversations, it becomes a collective movement towards respect, empathy, and equality for both the genders.

At MSSS, we believe that real change begins when education reaches the most far stretched sections of the society and where conversations like these become normal, not uncomfortable.
