Janhavi Naik presented a review of the book *Varna, Jaati, Caste* by Rajiv Malhotra and Vijaya Vishwanathan. 📚 She highlighted that the idea of “caste” as commonly understood today is largely a colonial construct, which distorts the indigenous framework of varna. 🌏 Emphasizing the need to view varna as part of the broader varna–ashrama system, she noted that jati is a later socio-cultural development. 🕉️ This insightful review also marked a meaningful wrap-up to the 40th book discussion, enriching the overall dialogue. 🎉📚
