The Gwalior Management Association (GMA) organised its Monthly Guest Lecture at Hotel Landmark, Patel Nagar, City Center, Gwalior, on 09 August 2026, Sunday. The programme featured an insightful expert session on leadership by Lt. Col. Aman Singh, Sena Medal (Gallantry), Indian Army officer and Security Operations Analyst, DRDE, DRDO, Gwalior.
The dignitaries present on the dais included Lt. Col. Aman Singh, GMA President Dr. Praveen Agarwal, Executive Director Dr. Manoj Patwardhan, Vice President Mr. Khalid Qureshi, and Honorary Secretary Mr. Shyam Agarwal.
The programme commenced with a briefing about the event by Dr.Shahid Amin, Life Member, All India Management Association (AIMA), and Member, GMA, who also anchored the programme. This was followed by the welcome of the chief guest and dignitaries and the ceremonial lighting of the lamp.
Addressing the gathering, GMA Executive Director Dr. Manoj Patwardhan highlighted the role and significance of GMA and emphasised that collective growth remains one of the key missions of the association.
GMA President Dr. Praveen Agarwal welcomed Lt. Col. Aman Singh and introduced the distinguished speaker to the audience. He also welcomed the guests, GMA members, representatives from MPCCI, faculty members and students of ITM Gwalior. The students were accompanied by faculty members Dr.Shahid Amin, Dr. Ankit Gupta,
Dr. Prashant Sharma and Dr.NamrataChaturvedi. Dr.Praveen Agarwal emphasised the importance of GMA's knowledge-sharing sessions for students and highlighted the association's MoUs with ITM Gwalior and Amity University, aimed at supporting the professional development of students.
The major highlight of the programme was the expert lecture titled “Leadership Beyond the Battlefield: Practical Lessons from the Indian Army for Today’s Managers.” Lt. Col. Aman Singh shared practical leadership lessons drawn from the Indian Army and connected them with the contemporary requirements of managers and corporate leaders.
During the session, he elaborated on the Naam (Name) Framework, Namak (Salt) Principle and Nishan (Flag) Concept, along with the six pillars of leadership in the Indian Army. He stressed the importance of building credibility through action and shared insights on management commitments, mission command, resourcefulness and operational ingenuity.
He also highlighted the principle “Sweat in Peace, Save Blood in War”, underlining the importance of preparation, discipline and readiness. He further discussed grooming the next generation of leaders, navigating the corporate VUCA (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity and Ambiguity) environment, and maintaining deliberate calm while making critical decisions.
The session was well received by the participants and provided meaningful insights into leadership, teamwork, decision-making, resilience and organisational effectiveness.
During the programme, the newly elected President and Executive Committee members of MPCCI were also felicitated. Dr. Praveen Agarwal, President, MPCCI, was felicitated by Dr. Manoj Patwardhan, Executive Director, GMA. Mr. Om Prakash Kukreja was felicitated by Mr. Rajesh Khanna, Mr. Ashish Agrawal by Mr. Vivek Jain, Mr. Prashant Singh by Mr. Sameer Seth, and Mr. Abhishek Goyal by Mr. Sandeep Gabra.
A memento was presented to the chief guest Lt. Col. Aman Singh by GMA Executive Director Dr. Manoj Patwardhan.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by GMA Vice President Mr. Khalid Qureshi, who expressed gratitude to the chief guest, dignitaries, GMA members, faculty members, students and all participants. The event concluded with a group photograph.
