On 25th September 2026, MIND India had the pleasure of hosting students from the BSW and MSW programmes of Mahapurusha Srimanta Shankardeva Viswavidyalaya for a One-Day Field Visit, offering them an opportunity to gain insights into the practical application of social work within the field of mental health and child development.
The visit commenced with an orientation session introducing the students to MIND India’s vision, mission, organisational structure, and various verticals of intervention. This was followed by a creative writing exercise, encouraging students to reflect on their social work knowledge and explore how theoretical concepts can be translated into meaningful organisational practices.
Ms. Ankita Kakati, Senior Psychologist, MIND India, engaged with the students on the importance of mental health, holistic development, and the need for an integrated approach towards individual wellbeing.
Adding an experiential dimension to the visit, Mr. Prakritish Bhattacharyya, HR and Administrative Co-ordinator & Drama Expressive Therapist, MIND India, conducted a demonstration of drama-based activities, highlighting their relevance in everyday life, self-expression, interpersonal engagement, and holistic development.
The visit also included an observation session facilitated by MIND India’s Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) Unit, providing students with an opportunity to understand the organisation’s work in the area of child development and mental health.
At MIND India, we believe that meaningful learning happens when knowledge meets experience. Such field visits serve as an important bridge between academic learning and professional practice, encouraging future social work professionals to develop a deeper understanding of mental health, community engagement, and holistic wellbeing.
MIND India remains committed to fostering learning, collaboration, and awareness towards building a more inclusive and mentally healthy society.
