Women carry the responsibility of nurturing families, managing households, supporting livelihoods, and strengthening communities, all while contributing to the nation’s progress through their resilience, leadership, and everyday efforts. This Mother’s Day, during our field visits across different communities, we witnessed how women continue to lead change through collective learning and community participation.
Through regular handholding support, 10 SHGs received guidance on maintaining essential records such as the Proceedings Book, Savings Ledger, and Attendance Register. Members were supported during monthly meetings to confidently maintain these records, strengthening transparency, participation, and collective decision-making within the groups.
To support this process, the AVA Sakhi Handbook was distributed along with the registers. The handbook provided practical examples for maintaining records, making it easier for AVA Sakhis and SHG members to apply the learnings within their own villages and reserve groups.
Follow-up visits on host plant plantations were also conducted to observe the implementation of scientific plantation practices shared during the training session held on 27 April. Guidance was provided on pit preparation, plantation methods, and maintaining records related to seed distribution and seedling growth. AVA Sakhis were encouraged to regularly monitor these activities within their groups.
SHGs were also encouraged to document positive changes within families and communities related to education, livelihoods, and income generation, helping build a stronger understanding of community growth.
Support was provided to 4 SHGs on 5 May, 3 SHGs on 7 May, and 3 additional SHGs on 10 May.
At AVACreations, Mother’s Day became a reflection of the strength, care, and leadership women bring into every aspect of life and community development.
