People’s Friend Foundation is involved in the fields of Health, Education, Culture, Social Welfare, Community Development, Capacity Building and Environment Protection. To serve the purpose, the following major objectives are identified:
a) To enhance the living standard and to ensure welfare specifically of the poorer and underprivileged section of society through social service. c) To organize
seminars and conferences in order to create scientific mentality among people by removing their superstitions and biases. d) To offer relief materials to the victims and sufferers of the natural calamities, viz, flood, earthquake etc. e) To organize seminars, workshops, felicitation programme to inspire the student community in the cultural and educational spheres. f) The organization will try to promote, preserve the cultural heritage of the state in particular and of the country in general. g) The organization will, with the help of the Government or other charitable organization, try to make people literate, computer literate and make aware of the IT boom. h) The organization will, in the long run, establish a publication unit and thereby try to publish culturally relevant books on various subjects. i) The organization will set up an institute in the state for capacity building in different sectors. The objective of it is to explore newer employment avenues for the younger generation, thereby guide and train them. j) The organization will publish a cultural magazine with an aim to spread cultural awareness and integrity among people. The Magazine will showcase various diverse cultures of the state, tribal lifestyle, food habits etc. k) The organization will, if possible, tie-up with the Ministry of Human Resource Development or State Education or Social Welfare Department to set up an Open School for street children or school drop-outs. k) Besides the above, the organization will now and then, take decisions and work on any human welfare related issues like child labour, suppression of women or to create work-culture by opening up new avenues of employment.
