Flood Relief Update | North East Educational Trust (NEET)

Our flood relief mission continued in Sivasagar district as our team reached 1 & 2 No. Chintamoni Garh and Bhadhora Village, extending support to families whose lives have been deeply affected by the devastating floods.

Village-wise distribution on 1 August:

* 1 & 2 No. Chintamoni Garh: 274 families
* Bhadhora Village: 30 families

With this phase of the relief operation, North East Educational Trust (NEET) has reached a total of 497 flood-affected families across Sivasagar district over two days of relief efforts.

We are sincerely grateful to our funders, M Foundation, Technip Energies India Ltd., and Sarat Chandra Kagti Trust, whose generous support made this humanitarian effort possible. Their support enabled us to provide essential food and hygiene relief kits to families affected by the floods.

Many families have lost their homes, belongings, livelihoods, and a sense of security to this disaster. Our thoughts and prayers are with every family affected by the floods. We hope that brighter days will come soon and that, with collective strength and support, they will rebuild their homes, restore their livelihoods, and move forward with hope.

Every relief kit represents the compassion and solidarity of our donors, volunteers, partners, and well-wishers who chose to stand with those in need. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who made this relief mission possible. Together, we continue to bring hope, dignity, and support to families on their journey towards recovery.

Flood Relief Update | North East Educational Trust (NEET)

Hope reached flood-affected families as our team distributed 193 relief kits across four villages in Sivasagar district, providing essential food supplies and hygiene items to communities affected by the recent floods.

Village-wise distribution (Total: 193 families):

Lakshminagar (Borpatra Ali): 30 families
Saulkora Gaon: 96 families
Dimuwal Village: 55 families
Singhodwar: 12 families

We are deeply grateful to M Foundation, Technip Energies India Ltd., and Sarat Chandra Kagti Trust, whose generous support made this relief mission possible.

Each relief kit was thoughtfully prepared to meet the immediate needs of affected families. The hygiene kits included phenyl, bleaching powder, mosquito-repellent incense sticks, candles, matchboxes, Dettol antiseptic liquid, bathing soap, sanitary pads, and other essential daily-use items.

Recognising that every family's circumstances were different, we prepared two types of food relief kits.

For families able to cook:
Rice, dal, potatoes, onions, cooking oil, salt, Amul Taaza milk, flattened rice (chira), and biscuits.

For families still unable to cook:
Flattened rice (chira), whole green gram (moong), roasted gram (boot/chana), ORS, Amul Taaza milk, biscuits, sugar, salt, and cooking oil.

Every relief kit represents the compassion and solidarity of individuals and organisations who chose to stand with families during this difficult time. Together, we have delivered not only essential supplies but also hope and reassurance to communities as they begin the process of recovery.

The future is in good hands. ❤️

After completing their NCC training classes, these seven young boys didn't choose to go home and rest. Instead, they came straight to join us, lending their hands to load essential relief materials onto the truck that has now departed for Sivasagar.

Their willingness to serve without expecting anything in return is truly inspiring. We are incredibly proud of these young volunteers. Their actions remind us that the spirit of service lives on in the next generation.

📢 Our flood relief donation drive continues until 31st July. Every donation, will help bring relief and hope to those in need.

Assam is facing yet another devastating wave of floods, leaving thousands of families struggling without food, clean water, and other basic necessities.

To support those in need, NEET is reaching out to remote flood-affected villages in Sivasagar, where relief has still not reached many families.

Our team will be distributing relief kits containing both wet and dry essential items to support 400 households.

Every contribution, no matter how small, can make a meaningful difference to a family in crisis. We sincerely request you to come forward and support this relief initiative.

Together, let's stand with the people of Assam in their time of need.

Meet Farzida, a Class 10 student and a member of NEET's Community Library.

In a truly inspiring act of kindness, Farzida took the initiative to raise funds for flood relief—all on her own. Without informing us, she went out into the community to collect contributions and later handed over the funds to support our relief efforts.

But her support didn't stop there. Farzida has also been volunteering alongside our team, helping pack essential relief materials that will soon be sent to the flood-affected families of Sivasagar.

Her compassion, courage, and sense of responsibility at such a young age are truly remarkable. She reminds us that age is never a barrier to making a meaningful difference.

Thank you, dear Farzida, for your selfless initiative and generous heart. We are incredibly proud of you.

Our team from North East Educational Trust (NEET) came together on 29th June to conduct a crowdfunding drive for flood relief efforts in Sivasagar.

With hope in our hearts and the support of kind-hearted people, we reached out to our community to raise funds for families affected by the devastating floods. Every contribution, became a step towards bringing relief, hope, and dignity to those in need.

Today, our Community Library transformed into a centre of compassion and collective action as parents, former students, and members of the North East Educational Trust came together to prepare essential relief materials for families affected by the devastating floods.

We are deeply grateful to our funders, M Foundation, Technip Energies India ltd. and Sarat Chandra Kagti Trust, whose generous support made this relief mission possible. Together, we were able to prepare and distribute thoughtfully assembled relief packs containing essential food supplies and hygiene items for families affected by the floods.

Our thoughts and prayers are with every family affected by this disaster. We pray for the safety, strength, and speedy recovery of those rebuilding their lives, and we offer our heartfelt condolences for the precious lives lost. May those who have passed away rest in peace, and may their loved ones find the courage to endure this difficult time.
