As our family is dedicated to art, culture and nature since my childhood, it was already in my mind to give it a concrete shape and that’s how the organization PARIVARTAN was founded with the support of family, friends and well wishers. The organization was formed in the year 2008 on papers when I organized an International Art Camp on Nature and environment. “PARIVARTAN is a space for art,
culture, nature and adventure, esp. In the year 2008, with the help of National and International artists Parivartan managed to organized an ART CAMP on Nature and Environment. The aims of the camp are to bring awareness to people from deforestation and hills encroachment in our surrounding villages which are already a threat to the villagers. In 2009, we organized a Health camp in collaboration with INTERNATIONAL RED CROSS in our village bordering Assam and Meghalaya. In the same year we also did Ayurvedic plantations in the village area. In the year 2010, we organized a traffic art camp by inviting artists Ra Kajol from Denmark involving the students of Govt. The activity was done was done in Sankardeva Kalakshetra premises (cultural center in Guwahati). In 2011 we organized a Photography camp in Nature followed by an exhibition by artist Devdutt N Baraskar who is a national level photographer. In 2012 creative people from around the globe got together and share the great experience for the organizers and also for the invitees.At the same year we also organized a Latin Dance workshop by a German dancer Maike Steuer in Guwahati. In 2013, we organized an International festival called Basistha creative Camp and Dancing Rain International Festival in Basistha, a historical place which is also a part of Garbhanga forest Reserve known as Butterfly zone, keeping in mind the importance of river Basistha which is under environmental threat. Parivartan NGO which is located in Barpathar village, Guwahati is a space to gather artists, travelers and good people from all around the world to create independent art, care about environment, share the experience and solve social and educational issues what is important for us and possible to be done. We are open for good ideas and advices, people who want to collaborate are in welcome here. We are working in non-commercial way without any external support. The best compensation is to see at least small changes around us. I believe, that working under one roof, possibilities will definitely open up for all.
